Oh my goodness, this is the best intro/overview video on Kubernetes. So far, Kubernetes had managed to keep me confused about it, despite having watched lots of very nice videos from recognized experts. I had mostly concluded that Kubernetes is perhaps intrinsically complex to understand. But hats off to you for going many extra miles to demystify Kubernetes for me and the tens of thousands of other professionals who would undoubtedly benefit from this video. Many thanks and God bless.

When you use auto-scaling for containers within a Kubernetes pod, you have control over which containers scale and how they scale. Kubernetes allows you to specify which containers should scale and which ones should remain constant within the same pod. This flexibility is a powerful feature of Kubernetes, and it allows you to design your applications in a way that best fits your requirements.

I didn't get that, you can't independently scale containers within a pod, you can only scale them together as a unit.
great vid. extremely helpful and on point

Thanks, but nowadays control plane usually is hidden from you and sometimes even nodes (for example in eks fargate) so makes it easier

awesome video, when preparing the content, do you sketch out sort of a mind map breaking down the subject into smaller pieces? like divide and conquer style of approach ?

It depends on the content; for these types of videos, yes. Then write the script and put lots of visuals :)

Thanks for the wonderful video. One quick question - Does replicas of Pods happens on same NODE ...
@AntonPutra
2 жыл бұрын
Usually not, you can use affinity to require pods to be scheduled on the same node or different ones. kubernetes.io/docs/concepts/scheduling-eviction/assign-pod-node/
Great video bro

I also see the word "workers" thrown around when discussing our infrastructure. I am a little confused how that fits into this picture?
@AntonPutra
Жыл бұрын
node == worker
what’s the difference between this and AWS?
@AntonPutra
2 ай бұрын
1. control plane is managed by AWS 2. you have an option to use "serverless" kubernetes (fargate), no need to manage nodes at all, just create pod and aws will spin up 1 node for each pod
good video and info - but way to fast !! slow down.... good job
