KUANA TORRES KAHELE Na Vaqueros 2012

Музыка

From his bestselling debut solo CD, Kaunaloa, Kuana Torres Kahele presents Na Vaqueros. The original song from Kuana, is half spanish and half Hawaiian and talks about the Spanish cowboys that were commissioned by King Kamehameha to come to Hawaii to teach the Hawaiians how to cattle herd. It speaks of those Vaqueros and the beautiful Spanish women they brought with them that stole the hearts of the Hawaiian paniolos.
Nominated for the 2012 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards for Song of the Year. We humbly request your consideration as this year's choice. Mahalo Nui.
Kuana Torres Kahele's KAUNALOA CD available in stores and on iTunes now. Support Hawaiian Music.

Aloha Kaiulani: I am writing to you from Guadalajara, Mexico. I have been studying Hawaiian culture and spirituality for a little over two years and the truth is that I am in love with the islands and this study that I am doing inspired me to write my first book. I hope you will allow me to keep in touch with you. Mahalo Do you speak spanish?

My husband and I have horses and he is a Mexican Vaquero and I am a Spanish Hula dancer. So I choreographed this hula for her. It is a bueatiful song to dance to, it makes everyone smile. Spanish immigration to Hawaii began in 1907 and continued until 1913, at which time more than 9,000 Spanish immigrants had arrived in Hawaii with their families most went to work on sugar plantations, but some went to work with cattle on ranches, and Portuguese immigration to Hawaii began in 1878 until 1911 nearly 16,000 Portuguese immigrants had arrived mainly from the portuguese islands of Madeira. Mexican Cowboys came to Hawaii in 1832 to work with the cattle, so i suppose yes the Mexicans were the first to come over and work with the cattle but not the only ones,
