In that steamer you can easily make puttu, take a small cup or pudding bowl, add coconut and the puttupodi press it and invert to the steamer thattu ( like manappam, how kids do it) in a steamer thattu you can make 5-6 puttu at a time . All of the same size

In Trissur side, we call it uthirputtu. We don’t need to put the mixture in a container. It can be put directly into the steamer. We always make it like that without a kutti.
