no its just a little bump there sort of a "down step" in that part of the track thats why

Fantastic film. Is there anything more beautiful than the sound of a big twin under load and going for it? Sounds like a male voice choir. Nice riding, this is how I imagine myself riding in my dreams! Good work.

@adam1301992 when you downshift you push the lever down with your left foot, however, alot of racers will reverse the pattern by flipping the gear lever(rod) and make it where when you upshift you tap it down- great for ground clearance in corners. stock/standard style is 1st (at bottom) then neutral (between 1st n 2nd) pulling/clicking up to the rest.

Just a question about the stuff they use to get rid of oil on the track at 1:30 (cement dust?) what's it like to ride over? People on track day videos I've seen don't seem to back off when going over it, does it just look worse than it actually is? Cheers

I saw this bike and was going to buy it and wish I did but id of only got it depending on some terms such as having the bike restricted alot till I get used to the power and then finally have it derestricted once im used to it. Does anyone know if this is even possible to restrict such a bike?

@Johnny5sWorld Happens a lot with cheap HD camcorders. Its type of sensor they use I believe. By cheap i still mean £500+

The competition wasn't really hard on that trackday , but RC8's are cool bikes anyway. It does need some extra onboard electronics like traction control & anti-wheelie...maybe something for next years RC8RR??

Yes! KTM was about 6 second slower on the first lap comparing to your video from 1st of June 2012, but KTM had more traffic. Watch KTM from 2:07 and your BMW from 2:59 and you both would have identical lap time if not the traffic for the RC8R at the very end. And yes KTM did hit 133 and the BMW of yours 140, 7MPH difference which is quite understandable (180hp twin vs 196hp Monster). Obviously a lot depends on the skills of the rider too. I'm BMW guy but this KTM is still very impressive ;-P

its true my 08 R1 will easily top 160kmh in first gear,no problem.

Not entirely true. The top speed in first is between 70-76mph. It is well known that the speedo is off.

It's clearly got lots of punch but I think it sounds a bit crap. It definately sounds very slow (but clearly is not actually slow).

R1, GSXR 1000, ZX10R, BMW S1000RR, they all do 100 mph in first...

It's a V-Twin that sound exactly like a V-Twin. I don't think you can knock a bike that isn't an I4 for not sounding like an I4.

OMG those horrible stock clipons.....Aftermarket or GTFO!

I must admit that is one of the ugliest dashes I've ever seen on a faired sportbike.
