I am not an experienced rider, only 2 seasons behind me but I managed almost 40.000km... :P I would take the new Kawasaki Z400 / Ninja 400, lovely engine and not too quick! But more than enough to have fun on.

My choice is KTM 1290 SAS. On this road and on any other road in the world. Because there is no better Big Enduro for fast riding.

I've got the exact same bike (except for the Akrapovic exhaust, crash bars). Don't expect the panniers to touch the floor before the center stand (and I speak about the SW Motech ones, much bigger than the KTM ones, but cleverly chamferred). The ground clearance is pretty impressive for such a bike in corners (and the sport damping mode definitely adds something here). The stock tyres are fine, but I was disappointed with their short life : the front one started to peel in a strange way from 6 000 km on its sides, and the confidence then dropped. I ended replacing both the front and the rear at 7300 km, the front one was pretty slick at that point, I ended the winter saving it as much as I could. The rear could have lasted a tiny bit longer (i don't ride aggressively on a daily basis). Front brake feeling could be better on this bike, but they work just fine and don't seem to overheat easily. Just, my old SMT was way better in that department.

Rode this on my Triumph Tiger 1050 on way to Poland ... great balcony road, only had one police speed trap.. would’ve preferred it on myzx9r.. but would’ve been fined 🙄😎

By the way my bike of choice would be the new yamaha 700 tenere!.... I had a suzuki ts 80 first then a ts 100 then a tzr 125 over 25 years ago!.... I ve always enjoyed motorbikes and I will b getting back in the saddle soon my friend.... Thanks for your reply enjoy riding your bike bud!

Hey Schaaf ein Traum die Strecke, bin vor 1 Woche diese gefahren. Gefällt mir fast besser der Typ Strecke als Pässe hoch zu fahren. War mit meiner r1200gs lc da mit 3 Koffern und auch diese hat eine super Figur gemacht, video folgt.

Hallo Schaaf, vielen Dank für all deine Videos, speziell die deiner CB. Dies war der ausschlaggebende Punkt eine alte 94' CB zu kaufen. Da hab ich eine viell. komisch klingende Frage, und zwar hörst du den Sound genau so klar unterm Helm, wie du ihn aufnimmst? An meiner CB ist ein Auspuff von MSR, der ist irgendwie nur laut, bzw. sind die Windgeräusche zusätzlich sehr laut. DlzG 🤙

Hy Schaaf, das ist unsere Hausstrecke im Urlaub, das Val di Cembra von Trento richtung Cavalese die SS612 - sehr Geil. Du kannst auf der anderen Seite des Stausees wieder runter fahren richtung Levico Terme - Trento, ist jedoch verwinkelter und daher nicht mehr so flott. Beziehen immer Quartier im Langeshof -Anterivo/Altrei, da fürt die Strecke vorbei !. Gruß Mike

@@Schaaf ....auf der halben Strecke Richtung Trento auf der anderen Seite, kannst Du wieder auf die SS612 wechseln und wieder Richtung Cavalese hoch fahren, und wieder runter Richtung Trento usw. usw.😉👍

@@sergiobluesman The Ktm is more comfortable to me better sitting position and to not talk about the engine WOW! That engine is unbelievable what a throttle response and power! The bike got the characteristics of a supersport but still a great touring machine. Could and want to ride one from New York to Las Vegas. The only downside is the windshield, you can adjust up and down but it doesn't give you that much wind protection that you necessary want when driving on a highway.

Verdammte Axt! In mir brodelt seit einigen Wochen brennend das Thema, welches Adventure-/Bigenduro-/Crossover-Bike ich mir als Zweitmopped zulegen soll. Ich bin zum ersten Mal in meinem Leben überhaupt in der Lage, über so etwas nachzudenken. Allein von der Geilheit her wäre es sofort die SAS! Aber auf meinen Schultern sitzen diese depperten kleinen Engelchen und Teufelchen, die mir die ganze Zeit irgendwas ins Ohr flüstern: "...die S1000XR ist sicher auch extrem leiwand....die Scrambler1200XE wäre auch noch superhübsch....ebenso die wohlklingende AfricaTwin...und die 1000er V-Strom wäre dann auch gleich noch viel günstiger und obendrein auch noch zuverlässig....und die Angetraute würde sich mit nämlicher auch mal wieder trauen....!?!?!? Gut, dass das Wetter zur Zeit so mies ist und ich erst noch meinen ollen Suburban verscherbeln muss. Aber irgendwann ist die Entscheidung halt fällig. Da kann man noch so viele Videos gucken und Tests lesen. Wenn man sich nach allen Schwärmereien dann konkret entscheiden muss, ist das schwerer als ich dachte!

@@Schaaf Wofür ich mich aber immer ganz leicht entscheiden kann, ist ein weiteres deiner Videos zu sehen. Das tut nach 'nem ganz normalen Oarschtag einfach richtig gut! Bin eben zur Tür rein und sofort auf die Couch gehüpft. KZread ist schon an an der 65"-Glotze - und jetzt erst mal ein paar Schaaf-Videos in den Kopf schieben. Gerne auch noch mehr von den Toros mit der Twaapi. Danke Valentin!

Schaaf you really need to start uploading in 60fps, your content is too tasty to not be, out of all moto channels I watch yours the most and I see this small change would be a massive quality boost. Maybe you have a reason not to do that, but I sincerely recommend.

For that kind of pace, the SAS will ask about 7 l / 100 km (in my case, weighing 110 kg).

Du musst auch den Sound verpixeln. Die vom Motor emittierten Frequenzen sind proportional zur Drehzahl. Bei bekannter initialer Geschwindigkeit und der daraus resultierenden Frequenzen lässt sich dank fast Fourier transformation errechnen wie schnell du warst. Bei bekannter Übersetzung auch dann, wenn du mittendrin schaltest ;)

Hey, mal wieder ein schönes Video mit KTM. Ich weiß, dass Du Video und Sound getrennt aufnimmst für diese gute Qualität. Hast Du mal probiert das Sound Signal vom Zoom direkt in die GoPro zu speisen via Line in? Das würde ja sicher die nachbearbeitung etwas erleichtern. Falls ja wäre ich an deiner Erfahrung interessiert. Vielen Dank und Gruß

@@Schaaf Vielen Dank - ich hab zwar jetzt auch eine Hero 7 bisher nutze ich aber noch die Sony X3000 am Helm - die hat ein 3.5 mm Eingang was die Nutzung eines externen Mikro einfacher macht - allerdings übersteuert die Kamera das Signal sehr schnell. Hab jetzt ein Setup was bis ca. 120 km/h halbwegs geht. Aber darüber hinaus ist das Signal im roten Bereich - daher die Überlegung mit dem Zoom. Meld mich gerne falls ich das mal angehe. Beste Grüße!

As much as i like your videos and riding i dont like that you rev the bike that much as it is a V Twin with a lot of torque. The low down grunt and good midrange is it what makes the engine that good. Its just a personal opinion so dont hate :D PS: Maybe that has become a habit with your CB500 where you have to search for the power in the higher RPMs?

Gut, daß du die Geschwindigkeitsanzeige ab etwa 120km/h immer verpixelst. Dadurch kommt keiner auf die Idee, daß es beim Beschleunigen tatsächlich immer schneller wird. Schlaues Kerlchen! ;)
