Hey Matt. Thanks for another informative video. GINXU: what’s the tail thickness? KT site only shows “thickness” which I assume is max at the front. I seems another board with same tail thickness (at the mast) would provide similar handling/turning/feel while on foil. Your thoughts?

Have you tried the Armstrong ha foils on the Ginxu? Is the track forward enough? Looking at the 72L

The thin tail and big step also effectively reduce your mast length. How does it feel different from sizing down the mast?

You know, I didn't notice it that much. I am riding an 85cm mast and couldn't really tell the difference for mast lengthen between the two, but that is a good point. You are effectively shortening the mast. Doesn't really feel that way for some reason.

I don't have the thickness at the tail but it looks about half as thick at the tail. That being said it is oddly thick in the middle. Apples to apples.... this 82L Ginxu compares to my 60L Armstrong in stability. That Ginxu is really unstable for the size. The FG is 20L less and more balanced front to back too. Ginxu is about 4 pounds heavier that the FG 60L. The big flat deck makes it a little easier to shuffle your feet around for transitions than the FG with the more conceived deck. The FG is quicker rail to rail and has more control. The Ginxu you have to ride your feet all the way at the back of the board, so it feels a bunch bigger with more swing weight. So long story short, the Ginxu feels much more responsive than other 80L boards so the tech works. That being said, you have to ride a lot bigger board than you need so there are plenty of unwanted characteristics. In the 80L size, I think there are better boards out there. In the sinker smaller sized Ginxu you get a butt load of performance out of a smaller, ride toward the back, surfy feeling board.

Matt, nice conditions there without too much shore break. What ramp and what wind direction for this session? Looking for some nice ocean spots to ride.😀

This was ramp 25 south of Salvo and it was blowing SW about 20-25mph. See you out there!
