    This is genius. I broke my foot 79 days ago. Little sign of improvement unfortunately. I stumbled on your video a few days after I broke it and wanted to try this. I asked the physician’s assistant (who I see, rather than a doctor- not sure if that’s odd, to me it is) if she could do this.. she said “we don’t typically do that in this office” I asked if she could anyway..? And no. Where can I find a provider for this technique? She said we’ll talk about bone stimulators before we talk about surgery. A few days later I messaged her asking about getting a bone stimulator started early because of a possible autoimmune disease that’s not allowing me to heal… she says insurance doesn’t typically cover. Omg. Help me. I can’t live like this I am already morbidly damn obese. I just had emergency discectomy days after breaking my foot. I still can’t walk or weight bear. I’m DYING TO WALK!! And walk my poor dog!! The knee scooter I have is causing more issues in my back it’s like 50 lbs and big as hell. after all the years of pain and numbness from the sciatica I need my foot to heal for my sanity and HEALTH!!

    First and foremost this is an easy application use and if you use it consistently it will absolutely help. Make sure you’re putting about 25 to 50% attention throughout the middle of this application. My mother-in-law went through the same thing in which she had to be nonweightbearing for multiple weeks as well. Be patient. Here is some good news… A discectomy is the easiest surgery that you can have on the lumbar spine so the good news is your will recover very quickly. The issue with your foot is merely a bump in the road. The application that I posted and that you are now using will help you significantly to reduce your pain. The big key is remaining in the limited weight-bearing or non-weight-bearing status that your doctor has defined to facilitate better healing. More good news is that your low back pain and sciatica can be significantly reduced overtime if you have a good physical therapist who is working with not only manual mobilization techniques but also has a great understanding of dry needling. Let me know if you have any other questions about how do use this on the foot and if you wouldn’t mind let me know how you’re doing from time to time.

    I fractured the 5th metatarsal in my right foot on 5/3/2020. I was told it would be 8-12 weeks by one doc & 6-8 weeks by another. So, hopefully it will heal somewhere between there. The report showed: Acute comminuted minimally displaced fracture of the proximal 5th metacarpal which may extend towards the articular surface on the oblique view. Adjacent soft tissue swelling. I didn’t see how to go about adding a photo for a visual description. Would you be able to tell me if using KT Tape as you have in this video be ideal for this? Thanks!

    I was just diagnosed with osteochondritis of the 5th metatarsal head. It’s not terribly debilitating, but it is nagging/annoying. The ortho wasn’t too helpful in the way of healing or dealing, so I’m wondering if this manner of using kinesio tape might be helpful? Thanks!

    Thanks for replying. I'd actually forgotten I'd posted here. MRI revealed an osteochondral lesion to the 5th metatarsal head-weird injury for that small a joint. I'd already been scheduled to have stem cells for a minor meniscus injury and the doc had enough BMAC to also inject some to toe. The knee recovery great, but the toe is pretty much the same. Thanks again! @@ra339801

    My pain seems to be directly on that boney protrusion of the 5th metatarsal with little to no pain in front of that protrusion but with some pain behind that protrusion - maybe the cuboid area. My question is should I take in the same fashion you have shown here?

    ergasia PT can you send me an email address for that? Most of my pain is right on that boney part and a little to the end part of that boney part. Looking at some anatomy charts today, I’m thinking it is not the cuboid but rather the head of the metatarsal. I get sharp pains in it sometimes just when sitting or laying down - like needle pricks. There is no swelling and no bruising. I have no idea how I injured it either as nothing memorable occurred to make me think I had injured it. This has rocked on now for three weeks. If not better by the end of the year I will need to have it looked at / xrayed.

  • @enoina

    @enoina

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@chaelithecaterpillar8250 So if I’m understanding you correctly it’s right at the fifth metatarsal head? Often times if you have pain here one of the things you can do is get a tuning fork and studies have shown that a 256 MHz turning fork Is best for trying to find a stress fracture of this area. If you can find somebody who has this if they tap the tuning fork and then place it over the most painful spot it might be… Might be indicative of a stress fracture which could be causing your pain. But this is the way I would recommend to tape it

    I’ve been wearing a walking boot for a Jones fracture. My doc (UK) said to remove it after 4 weeks but everything I read online says 6-8 weeks. I’m wondering if KT tape is enough to prevent re-injury if the bone hasn’t united fully. Can I apply the tape myself or must it be done by another?

    What about after recovering from a 5th metatarsol fracture and returning to sports? Is it helpful to tape that part of the foot?

  • @enoina

    @enoina

    3 жыл бұрын

    Absolutely… Placement of the tape can actually help approximate the tissue which can intern help approximate the bone… Once you have good healing you can keep this on there to help increase stability in the fifth metatarsal. Make sure that you have fully healed before you return to sport.

    Is this any good for use with Iselin’s disease?

  • @enoina

    @enoina

    3 жыл бұрын

    This is a very good question I actually had to look up the disease itself because I’ve not had to treat it yet. But in looking at it yes it would be very similar to a growth plate disorder that you might find for a child of that age knee or heal or hip or pelvis… The whole idea is approximation of the tissue which will help with approximation of the bone so this should definitely help. I’d be very curious to see after about 4 to 6 weeks of applying this if you would not mind following back up with me and letting me know how it worked. Again thank you for the very good question

    5th metatarsal head synovitis here, hard to recover even with a boot… would taping help?

  • @enoina

    @enoina

    5 ай бұрын

    Good morning… Yes, it would certainly help. Nothing would help would be to find a physical therapist who does dry needling and have them dry needling at not only that point of the tenosynovitis but also the muscle, that inserted into that which runs along the lateral aspect of the fibula, which is called the peroneals. It’s a great combination

    That is my understanding and substantiated by all the other articles I've read. The base of the 5th metatarsal is proximal (closest to the ankle). The head distal. The location in this video is more the shaft (middle). I have had recurring pain at the base (OS suspects peroneal tendinosis, X-ray negative for Jones or other fractures) as well as the head (localized laterally and still yet to be treated/diagnosed). No obvious gait abnormalities and it's been 2 years. Unfortunately, also confirmed (EMG) Baxter's neuritis in same foot. Makes for a very difficult diagnosis and treatment. A good, peer reviewed article of 5th metatarsal fractures is www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5155254/

    Is this safe for use with a Jones fracture?

  • @enoina

    @enoina

    3 жыл бұрын

    Robert V Absolutely… The idea is that we are trying to immobilize the fracture by mobilizing some of the soft tissue that can also become inflamed. So as you put the tape on there it should actually help a little bit to keep this from moving as much and because it can also approximate the fracture then it may heal not a lot quicker but it may certainly aid in the healing process itself

    Hello, I’m 24 years old. I twisted my foot from a tiny step and kept walking for around a week,limping and frequent pain shocks. I went to hospital after a week where they informed me about the fifth metatarsal base fracture which needed operation, they did put on a cast. On the day of operation the main dr. came in and informed me that my bone wasnt dislocated so they won’t operate unless it does dislocate and it’ll be healed properly in 3 weeks time (on internet it was said 6 weeks in articles, I’m totally confused) . I asked if I could put on weight on the foot, she said yes I can. I’m confused now, putting weight on it ,while cast is on doesn’t pain at the moment. Shall I continue normal activities like attending university classes etc.? What are chances for it to dislocate in a cast?? Please help me! 😢
