Thanks for all you've done! I literally just went through your last video from 4 months ago, and it makes KSP2 even more ridiculous. hehe I remember in 2013 I built the new PC with only single top of the line 120GB SSD... that was very interesting for a while, poor Corsair SSD lost 20% of volume in under 2 years of my Steam library being redownloaded every other day...

@@Aximili55not surprising, once the game stopped making money they had no reason to support it, so they laid off the company. It seems game companies don’t understand that you have to make a good game for people to play it, and just assume “oh I guess people don’t want that game” when it does horribly.

Beautifully explained man! I love that more and more players are discovering the beauty of KSP thanks to these wonderful graphic mods! My favourite TUFX profile is usually warm HDR for when I shoot videos but learning to play around with each parameter in the editor window is also very satisfying and I recommend other players to try it out!

I noticed 2 things when following this tutorial: 1. replacing EVAvisor texture means you cannot remove the visor like in stock ksp, basically your visor is always down even when it says it isn't 2. shaddy+textures unlimited are not producing the translucent panels/parts like you said, I'm not entirely sure why, but it still looks stock everything else works great though! decided not to install TURD cause I like my game's performance and didn't see a need to mess with stock color scheme, thanks for the help! next step is installing all the mods I like to play with to make the game more realistic and challenging, and see if I can get everything working there, was kind of looking forward to the translucent panels, but it's not a huge deal, maybe I'll figure something else out or find the issue update: made a clean install of KSP, got shaddy working on there, copy pasted everything to the modded version and it still won't work :p rip translucent panels

Yet another superb video! I got the basic visual mods, but added the sunflares, the reflective visors, TURD (omg!) and finally brought myself to support Blackrack. This really helps to soothe the pain about KSP2’s current state. Cheers!

I'm generally not a big fan of paid mods. But KSP1 is a special situation- the game is no longer in active development. I'm not paying for a mod that's going to be broken by a game update in a few months. That plus the insane quality, the dev's clear passion, the reasonable pricing and the abysmal state of KSP2 means I have no issue paying for Blackrack's stuff.

when I put the 256x256 black png image set the reflection update to low, and turned on reflections in TR. The visor was silver but now the raise / lower visor no longer works. I had to uninstall and reinstall TR to get back to the default also, I use photoshop and have the choice of 24nit with transparency or 8-bit pig with transparency which do I want?

The load time between scene swaps is what takes me back to stock everytime.

I have an issue with reflection in atmosphere. For some reason, when still on kerbin the only reflection I get is from the grass and the water and I get no reflection from the sky above on the top of my craft. Any ideas?

HELLO! Nice video! I hope I could have a config file so that TURD makes the stock parts with a custom painted by default so I don't have to do it manually in every creation.

For some reason I can't get the skybox to work at all, I am using texture replacer but it just doesn't appear.

Great video! But i have few questions, i cannot run better kerbol with additional custom sunflares. (Even tho i "fixed" the code like shown in the video. Does it have dependencies like scatterer? I did not download scatterer because my low end computer cannot handle it as prefered with all the other part-feature mods. Do you know anything that migh help me? Thanks.

Although it is never mentioned in KSP forum topic as dependency, I remember encountering multiple instances of scaterrer related code inside. So probably it is scaterrer dependant. And this quite natural considering well.... sunflares need to work in atmosphere.

As I remember, Volumetric clouds have RSS configs. You need to check out parallax thread for RSS compatability

So I noticed in the older video, you said to install Shabby, Shaddy, and Textures Unlimited, but in this one, you explicitly say not to install Shabby because it conflicts with Textures Unlimited. Is this conflict only because of the additional visuals mentioned in this video, or is it an error in the other one that you recommended both together?

As I recall it is due to interactions of TURD and Textures unlimited. Hence the recommendation to install only necessary mods. And as I recall from the first video, there were no TURD and there was something else requiring both Shabby and Shaddy.

Hey, so I did everything mentioned in the video, and downloaded SPECTRA for Eve. Unfortunately, none of my worlds will load - it's just the black loading screen. The title screen loads fine, though. Any help would be appreciated.

Spectra and Volumetric clouds should not work together. They both use their own configs for Scatterer.

Yep, ReStock basically doing the same thing technically as TURD, replacing textures.

uh my KSP keeps crashing every time I recover vessel. Is one of the mods doing this? my RAM and CPU levels aren't even close to being maxed out btw

I don't know how, but after installing TURD I had two problems which are that Shaddy shaders aren't loading and fairing texture glitches so I can't recolor fairings. After deleting TURD Shaddy shaders could load. What to do?

Clean separate installs in different sequence, or using textures unlimited from TURD zip instead of CKAN. I get this fairing glitch sometimes as well. Could not really nail the reason for fairing issues.

We only need a procedural wings mod now.

From my testing TURD did not work together with Magpie and Simple repaint. Last two were absent from stock parts when I installed TURD first. So if you tried to use all 3 of them together maybe it is the thing preventing TURD from working.

How to I get the sky to reflect on my craft? The ground does, but the reflection acts as if there’s no atmosphere and it’s just black above it. I have planet shine installed as well as scattered and texture’s unlimited

I have reflections on. I actually just figured out that it's an issue with scatterer on certain computers. I'll have to use v0.06 until the bug is fixed. Thanks for replying though!@@Yakez42

Moving back to KSP 1 after the very uncertain future of KSP 2.

Is there perhaps a fork of the Parallax mod without the more fantasy-esque features? I mean the literal life on Laythe, or Eve, etc.

Yup, there are configs and settings for that, check KSP forums Parallax thread for directions. There was definitely no bubbly Eve setup.

@@Yakez42 Thanks a ton, I'll check if it's possible to only turn off certain features on those planets. What I'm after isn't no Parallax on Eve, just less if you know what I mean.

Parallax has caused many issues for me. The Collisions are meh at best. Some rocks don’t even have collisions, I’ve had issues with landing on some planets (for instance I landed on eve as slow as possible. Like 1-3 m/s but my craft as soon as it lightly touched the ground go launched into the air. Removing parallax fully fixed this for me. There also the fps impact too ofc. Parallax is a really nice mod yes but it isn’t really a must have. Or we’ll the terrain stuff isn’t a must have. The gsme can still look amazing without that

you have to download both stock textures and scattertextures and move _scatters into stock textures

I run KSP1 in 4k, so it is overkill rig for most. RAM is irrelevant for this mod list, KSP using 9GB of RAM with this build and like 30-40% of CPU, GPU loads are never above 80%. EVGA 2080ti Ryzen 5600X 48GB DDR4 RAM @3600 Mhz

You have to manually set the EnableCollisions to True in the config.

@@alfacedolidl6236 I have already solved this problem. the thing was that I tested parallax with trees on Kerbin, they have no collision, but with other objects (rocks on other planets, crystals on Ike, etc.) everything is fine.

@@Yakez42 nah i dont think parallax is at fault for my fps problem.. even without any mods if i look at the ground i get very low fps.. i just get better fps without parallax but thats normal.. something else kills my fps that i have no idea parallax just makes it a bigger problem

Previous one was all-in-all package without digging to deep. This one (well if it performs) is first of 3 or 4 specialized mod videos. Next two should be about interstellar and randomly generated planetary systems and another video would be about overall immersion mods, like sound mods and stuff. Although I have no idea about timing for those, they take up quite some time to make compared to "mission reports". Maybe there would be some stuff in-between.

In the tread there are separate packs to download for core vanilla parts and both DLCs extra parts. Also there are extra addons for some mods as separate downloads there.

Isolate mod responsible by adding and subtracting one by one. My bets are on Parallax it can be weird with shadows. Then go for respected forum mod support threads for troubleshooting.

Tysm, it was parallax so I just updated it to an older version and it seems to be working fine now. But, my recoloring GUI is not popping up but the its shiny and paints things are. @@Yakez42​
