Absolutely amazing! This needs to be taken worldwide. A Karen Carpenter show of this caliber would be a billion dollar venture. The extremely talented Leonoid, knows how to recruit talent, and Ksenia is a grand slam.

I knew Karen and I miss her everyday, she would be pleased. She was such a perfectionist, she recorded this in one take but wanted to do it again and Richard said no way.

There is ONLY ONE Karen Carpenter.

She has a really nice voice, but this particular song is one where Karen Carpenter's lower register really shines, and no one can duplicate that.

Love love this group. She has such a beautiful voice and when they sing Chicago songs they are awesome.

Leonid transcribed all the Chicago music by ear for every instrument! It was back during the cold war. He then put the band together to play it.

I fell in love with L&F while living in Italy during 2014-2018, and saw them twice in Dallas after returning to Texas. They are simply amazing!!!

I would love to hear the group do The Fifth Dimension’s “One Less Bell.” Ksenia would be great, as would the rest of the band. It’s a fabulous ballad, which they need a few more of in their live set. Ksenia is such a talent. She needs a few more feature songs, as they have only been giving her two with lead vocals. Danil gets a few too many perhaps. Ksenia draws a lot of people to this band and should be featured as much as her voice can handle.

I have a feeling that Ksenia will be doing more Carpenters’ hits in the future … they’re gonna find ways to showcase her voice … and the demographics of the band’s fans are perfect for Carpenters’ songs as they are of the same generation as Chicago’s … I should know as both “Top of the World” and “Just You and Me” were hits at the SAME time in 1973 when I was just a kiddo!!

She sounds fantastic on this song! I know the original by heart (Carpenters), am a musician myself, and she honors this classic song while putting her own touch on it. I wouldn’t change a thing about this performance. Bravo Ksenia!

@@herbkornblau9340 The “original” of this particular arrangement/version of this song was by the Carpenters….that is what I am referring to here. The official recording (KZread video) and live performances by Ksenia are pretty much an exact replica of that arrangement. Ksenia recently met with Richard Carpenter-he was quite impressed with her cover of Superstar. She is a fan of their music and, of course, Karen’s one-of-a-kind voice.

In a video comparing Ksenia and Karen as they sing the song in juxtapose, one could hear the distinct voice of Karen both on the high and the low notes. Karen is incomparable.

American managers should support this great singer Ksenia Buzina. She's Russian but is promoting American songs, and culture.

First, let me say I love Ksenia’s singing. She is very talented. But she performed this song exactly the same way in Eugene on Nov. 1, and it was a sadly a miss then as it was on this night in Visalia. She has no control over her vibrato on it, which takes away all the warmth in her voice. She knows this. Look at her reaction immediately after the song, shaking her head. But she graciously accepts the applause because she is a professional. Then she goes on to crush Ain’t Nobody, the next song (wish that were included here!), a much more difficult one to sing, and her vibrato is fine again. In Eugene, I spoke with her afterward and complimented her on her songs. She volunteered that she gets emotional on Superstar, but didn’t say why. I didn’t press her, I could tell she wanted to keep it private. Whatever it is, it is deep enough to cause her to lose the fine control of her diaphragm and vibrato. I feel really sad for her. Leonid needs to pull the song and replace it, but there is probably no time to rehearse another. Their schedule is packed and the tour is nearly over now. While I appreciate those of you who are sticking up for her-which she greatly deserves-it is also important to recognize that she is hurting while performing this particular song, which Leonid chose to originally release on Ksenia’s recent September birthday. She is a trooper for continuing to perform it, but sadly it is not her best work because of the emotional toll it is taking. Just compare it to her recorded version, on which she somehow did much better. We love you Ksenia. Blessings to you for whatever it is about this song that is hurting you. It only makes us love you more.

My pleasure to share what I saw and heard. I hope Ksenia can overcome whatever causes such an emotional response, but without losing the emotion a song like this requires of her to move the audience. It’s a fine line.

What are you babbling on about? She sounded just fine and is not shaking her head out of disappointment. If she "lost control" over her diaphragm she would not be singing on pitch. She does not have a very pronounced vibrator (thank goodness) to begin with.

Maybe Ksenia lost someone very special and this song is a trigger. I lost my wife a year ago this past June and this song is a trigger for me. Just a thought.

Yes agreed. She only had one stumble the week before when I saw this in Campbell. They only song of the whole show I got on video. Went back and watched it...and it was much crisper. (Audio that is)

Ksenia had problems on this song in Eugene also. Almost no vibrato, just like here, and very unlike her video of this song. I spoke with her afterward in Eugene and she volunteered that she gets very emotional about this song when she performs it. She didn’t say why, but that was also my impression as I watched it live from a seat very close to the stage. Leonid needs to give her a different ballad instead of this one. She is too close to whatever it is, which is not good for her unless she can get past that somehow. She clearly wants to do better for the audience the band and expects more of herself. She performed Ain’t Nobody immediately after Superstar and just crushed it, with great vibrato. Fabulous!

@@HQBergeron Sometimes a song can be a trigger for something that may have happened in someone's past. Maybe this was the case with Ksenia. Sometimes we forget that performers are just as human as we listeners are and they have feelings and experiences just like we do.

You can't criticise Ksenia. There was only one Karen Carpenter. Nobody will ever sound like that again. However watching this beautiful, talented woman is pure joy.

It's not good...... No soul.... The voice has no emotion....

Why why why do singers feel the need to draw out the notes when they sing live? The original by Karen wasn't like that. Your recent video of the song wasn't like that either. Drawing it out spoils the whole flow of the song. Please sing it straight...
