I never took it down while driving. But it zips onto the frame. You’d probably need to loosen a few screws to make it easy to do. This whole frame is pretty stout... I just don’t see it failing.. it’s not like typical Bimini tops I’ve had on my pontoons.

Thanks for sharing these details and your experiences with this top. I'm on the fence about a foldable vs this one. I do like the large area of this cover plus the tension in the fabric looks great around the frame. My covers are tonneau type so the Bimini would be exposed when it's parked up, whether that be in the water or on my trailer! So the question is, is it much of a hassle to remove the fabric? It doesn't look to be more than just a few minutes effort. I wouldn't be taking the whole thing off, just the fabric so the birds don't pepper it!!

Going to buy this one. How/can you take the canvas down for highway driving? I’m under the impression they are only rated for 40mph.

I see I took a year to reply lol.... I have never removed the canvas while driving, and I know I’ve driven over 40. It is pretty stream line... there isn’t a lot for wind to create a parachute with ... I know I’ve been 50 with it.

Toolman - What size bimini is this that you installed? What Size boat did you install this on?

How are those Rockville tower speakers?

How do you put your boat cover on with this bimini up? Do you have a special cover?

Josh Carlton I haven’t uncovered this for the season yet but to take it down. The fabric part just unzips. The bars have a set screw you loosen. If you wanted to just take it down. The brackets that mount directly to my existing wake tower have Allen screws you take out and the whole thing would come down.
