I like kava and been drinking it for about 2 months now. The problem is i tend to overdo things a bit and now I am dealing with a horrible kava hangover. I spent my entire day off in and out of bed, super tired and just lethargic. Not to mention a throbbing headache,

One rule of thumb i use is kava should always be good, there should be no negative experiences. Kava should be wonderful every time.

just received my first aluball for xmass. good for on the go. still prefer blending for 120 sec on the ninja bullet then a 2min knead and strain. defiantly a strong bru. a few studys show blend for 120 sec is optimal for most kavalactons vs 15 min of T method. bulla

I've been using Kava, along with Kratom and proper diet, exercise and sleep to improve my routine and daily stack; I actually came by Kava from watching some of your older videos. One thing that was an unintended but beneficial side effect is that I no longer consume alcohol. I would have several drinks on the weekend to decompress, and even though I kept this to only one day per week, I absolutely felt like I was "relying" on it to de-stress, which in my mind is just as dangerous as being a full-blown alcoholic. I do prefer the heavier, stronger Kavas for my weekend Krunks, however, which means I'm still chasing a nice, couch sinking "buzz." I'm using the AluBottle and 3 AluBalls with a blend of Kava Supreme, Kava Waka and some others. That said, what is a good dosing regiment that you've found to maintain the feeling of relaxation for Kava throughout the evening, without overdoing it? I tend to start with my 3 ball whammy shell, and then I'll do another similar shell about an hour later, but that's also a heck of a lot of Kava for a relatively short period of time. Thanks for the videos, and glad to see your health has improved!

Your plan is good. Do you do second and third washes with that triple ball rig? What I would do is do a first wash of triple balls, using 6 TBS and 500 ml water on the 1st wash, 400 ml on the second, then do a third at 300 ml. Many kava drinkers, myself included, like to start a sesh with pretty much double the regular shell, and then once the groundwork is established, dial it back to single shells and then just keep shelling as needed. Of course, you can never chase the dragon of that initial euphoria. That only comes once, usually, and not always even once. For reference, I drink 8 - 12 TBS a day, typically 8. Oh, and make sure to save even the makas from a third wash in the freezer, it will still make a few more washes of freezer grog.

@@krnewman I do exactly that, a second and third wash using the same balls. However, I have not considered reducing the water content, which is genius. And after watching your earlier videos, I also freeze my kava as well. I've not yet made a grog from the frozen kava, but excited to give it a try. Thanks a lot for the advice! Here's to your continued good health and more great kava videos.

Krunky! Jim lahey from the kavaforums so so glad to hear the good news about your health! I said thankyou to god as soon as I heard. Have your doctors attributed kava or CBD to your recovery? I know kava and CBD show amazing promise in evreything healthwise

Hey Jim Lahey! Nice to see you! I don't know that any argument can be made about kava and CBD directly affecting the cancer, though they might. But they have certainly helped greatly in dealing with the side effects of cancer treatments, for which they are very effective. One thing they help a lot with is regulating proper sleep patterns, and then as long as your body is getting proper 8 hours every night it can go a long way to simply healing itself, given that chance. And of course so much more, not least of which is keeping on an even keel mentally and physically.

The bag shaking method seems to be the same principle as the aluball? Would you say it's as effective as aluball? And are both shake methods as effective as the traditional kneading for 10 to 15 mins approach?

Douglas Eckhart I think that pretty much everyone agrees the best method is trad prep, kneading a bag in cool water for 10 minutes. The aloe ball is excellent because of the convenience. The bag shaking is convenient and gives a slightly krunkier and cruder grog than the AluBall. The bag shaking is nice for me because after I do a couple of washes I put the bag in a container in the freezer and when the container is filled with bags I just take it out and thaw them and easily prep my mongrel grog for several more washes. They are all good, it just depends on what you want and how fast you want it and how conveniently you want it. But nothing will ever beat trad prep IMO.
