One of my favorite KRS-One songs. So dope and he's so confident on this track. I love the sound he had on this whole album. He started getting louder and sounded a bit harder than before. All his stuff from 1987-1997 is his best IMO, but there's some gems in his later stuff as well, "Know Thy Self" being one of them.

Able to go down town to the amazing independent record shop, full of vinyl racks and walls of cassettes, dedicated to the Hip-Hop of this time. The feeling of reading the album reviews and then being able to find them in store, freshly imported, was beautiful. This sacred lyrical prowess period is why I became the poet I am, because I fell in love with smart wordplay.

Ohio Ono Nujabees, Guts, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus works with a lot of good current artists and a lot of these "old skool" mc's still come out with music. For example, Del The Funky Homosapien has consistently put music out.

This song gets better with every listen and I’ve been listening to it for nearly a quarter century. So many dope lyrics. That Premier beat and the scratching. And still emcees act like they don’t know!
