Unless she's going to Japan a lot, I just don't think Japanese is a language you can learn easily from a couple of trips. I mean, there are tons of people who have done handful of months stay in Japan as transfer students for the purpose of learning Japanese, and still didn't learn much. Japanese is just so hard. Maybe she's been consuming Japanese media like anime, manga, and the like in Japanese, and that's what made the improvement? Some people don't think simply consuming content is "勉強"/studying, so that could explain Kronii's improvement and her "I didn't study at all".
