From a visual graphics standpoint, I quite enjoyed the many lines of teletype combining into the NewsCenter stripes in the early 1980s 3:30 , and personally I liked the coloured moving graphics used in the early 1990s 8:21. Though I wonder if the "24 hour news services" moniker really reflected how their newws service actually operated or was just marketing spin, but it certainly sounds authoritative!

The package that was used before this was only used for two years on KRON, but would end up getting used on several CBS affiliates, notably KPHO, KCTV, WKRC et al.

KRON-TV 4 (CW) is owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group. - NBC (1949-2001) - Independent (2002-06) - MyNetworkTV (2006-23) - The CW (starts Sept. 1, 2023, came from KBCW, later KPIX+)

Well good. But since WPRI and KRON lost "Newsforce" and "KRON Instant Classics" to "Aerial", protect WOOD-TV and WAVY-TV from losing "Primetime News" and "Newswire" to any Stephen Arnold music package, but the themes live on forever. These were the longest-running news themes ever.

KRON is the sister station to fellow CW affiliate KTLA in Los Angeles, Fox affiliates KTXL in Sacramento and KSWB in San Diego, NBC/CW affiliate KGET in Bakersfield and NBC affiliate KSEE and CBS affiliate KPGE in Fresno.

I remember Fred from KNTV 11, and George was on KTVU.

The one-time NBC affiliate in San Francisco, the also one-time San Francisco Chronicle station is pretty much all-news these days. Recently acquired by Nexstar as their CW Network affiliate. Nexstar will likely continue lots of news, as they do in other markets.

WESH in Orlando did the same thing; it was spoken as "W-E-S-H" before going "Wesh."
