I was so excited to see you made a road trip to Simply Socks!! I’ve ordered from the online shop a few times and have found the selection and service to be terrific! Now, seeing the shop in person and listening to Allison’s story, I have to add it the my knitting bucket list.

Ah! You came to Indiana!! We love Simply Socks and were over there for the MadTosh Mobile a couple of weeks ago. They did a great job supplying yarn during COVID and have so many fun yarn clubs with great surprise gifts. I’m so glad you were able to travel again and visit such a great shop!! ❤️

Thanks for the great tour and interview. Simply Socks is fabulous. Allison has done such a wonderful job w her business. They have a huge selection and great customer service.

What a great shop tour! I love knitting socks mostly because of how portable they are. I knit Christmas socks using her Poste yarn a few years ago. I didn’t realize that this was her own brand I guess. The socks have worn so well and the colors haven’t faded a bit. I would love to try the square needles for socks.

Such a lovely tour! It’s definitely on my list of place to visit! Can’t wait to see your socks!

I first ordered from Simply Sock over 10 years ago, and had my orders shipped to the UK. Now I live in Virginia, so hopefully I might get to visit one day. One of my favourite interviews and shop tours ever, thank you both.

Another terrific interview, Kristy! Simply Socks is my LYS, and it was so fun to see your perspective. In fact, when I go in the shop, I'm so overwhelmed by ALL THE YARN that I typically make a beeline for the back two or three stacks. So, thanks to you, I've now seen more of the yarn there than I ever have! I echo the suggestion to sign up for the newsletter, and follow the shop's blog for updates, announcements and contests.

Love Hedgehog Fibres since my trip to Ireland in 2017 and Breata gave me and my daughter a tour of her business, except the actual dye room which is top secret. You are so lucky! We (partner, myself, my 2 daughters, son in law, & 3 grands) had all our plane tickets, hotel, & Air BnB reservations to go to Ireland last August (2020). I had contacted Beata & my knitting daughter & I were supposed to go visit Hedgehog Fibres & probably Life in the Long Grass (also based in County Cork). Sadly COVID interfered. Maybe 2022?

Also I buy almost all my yarn from Allison & have for over 10 years. Her service is fantastic & she has fun sock clubs & kits.

I have ordered a bunch of yarn from you over the years, as I do not have a local yarn store. I knit socks by hand (two-at-a-time, toe up) and I also have a sock machine (Erlbacher Speedstar) and have used commercial yarn (Opal, Reggia) and indie-dyed yarn with success. I don't crank loosely plied yarn or any yarns with stellina, etc because they seem to result in dropped stitches or snags.

What a great shop! I want it all! 🧶❤️🧶

Wow! I want to go there. Worsted weight socks are great in your boots when you're sitting at a Packer Game at Lambeau Field in the middle of winter! If you're watching the game from home they make great slippers.

Loved this interview.. it's the first time I ever heard using sock yarn for anything else. The only reason I'm trying to struggle through socks, which right now I'm hating, is because it's portable and I want to be able to knit while I'm out and about and I don't wear sweaters so I have to have small projects...lovely store !

Hello from Mounds Illinois. I have a sock machine and you can crank socks with a skein of yarn, I wind it into a cake which is easier to use on the machine. I also use yarn on a cone. I would love to visit her shop one day, but I will have to make sure that I have lots of money because I saw a lot that I would bring home with me.

DK socks are kind of a rage right now. It's easy to create DK yarn from sock yarn by just holding it double. Might be fun for Simply Socks to promote that. Sell 2 skeins for socks, instead of one!😀

People always come up to me when I'm reading a book in public, too. They tell me it's rare to see someone reading. It's interesting!

Allison. Arne and Carlos just put out a you tube about socks. I learned something new about heel flaps and holes.

Kristy I LOVE "meeting" Allison. This is one of my favorite online fingering weight shops. I currently have two gift cards from hubby burning a hole in my pocket. She also carries a lot of Life In The Long Grass (LOVE.) If I ever get to Indiana in the "after times" - I have family in South Bend - I will have to call her to beg her to show me the shop. What a cool shop! A special yarn is not needed for a sock machine; I don’t think a tweed or slub would work well. You would want it to be smooth.

I like Allison but the interviewer is too cutesy by far for me. So contrived.

Just coming out of Covid? Apparently this was before the Delta variant of Covid!
