She's not the only actor/celebrity with social anxiety. Winona Ryder suffered from social anxiety, Kim Basinger was so shy that her parents had her tested for autism. And if you Google Shannyn Sossamon, you will find an awkward interview of her from the early 2000's.

I agree she’s refreshing and comforting. The thing is people occasionally say to me I’m clearly nervous when I don’t know them well and talking to them, or they might tell to ‘relax’ or something, but the thing is often I’m not especially nervous, I just communicate in a way that may seem sometimes slightly erratic etc, when I’m just trying to express myself, and it’s a bit frustrating

She is one of the greatest actors ever. SIX legendary movies in only ONE year. What fascinates me more about her is that she hates the paparazzi, she hates the shining fame and to be known in public, but she passionately LOVES her job; acting, and she does it while and despite having social anxiety. I have great respect for her, I can't even eat in public. It means HOW much she loves acting. Stewart is a very rare character, other actors act for fame not because they're passionate about acting (except for Leonardo Dicaprio I think..).

The audience was so quiet the whole time, I’ve never scene such an inactive audience on Ellen.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Actually, choosing to star in the lead role of a blockbuster series is a very intelligent choice. Now she's even more rich than you'll ever be. Financially secure. Tell me that isn't intelligent. As for cheating, there are many intelligent people who cheat. We are animals after all, and our bodies are primarily made to reproduce. It is instinctual to want multiple partners. That's just nature. I think before you try and imply that someone isn't intelligent because of their past choices, you need to maybe see the bigger picture. Or finish your schooling first.

I had social anxiety too I went to a neurologist and he prescribed me medicines i am skipping their names but you can do that too and trust me you'll get over it. I wasted 2 crucial years of my life

I can't imagine having to cope with anxiety in the face of such celebrity. It is hard enough in a normal life. Celebrity is just so much more added pressure. You can feel and see her discomfort often. My heart goes out to her for pushing herself through. She has gotten more comfortable overtime and does better when she likes and respects the interviewer. Her Tavis Smiley interview was just great. Also figuring out how to handle questions about her sexuality in the face of her celebrity and being true to herself in the process. That is a lot for someone to chunk off and figure out in ones private life without the added pressure of being in the public eye constantly. Folks who say she is rude and self absorbed don't have fleets of cameras following them when they go to get a cup of coffee. That would wear on anyone. I feel bad for her. It would make me angry to have to deal with that constantly. I think considering all these things she is an amazing being especially for just being 27 years old.

There's not much shy and introverted people in Hollywood like her. She is very relatable to real people in the world . When someone is famous you automatically want to pick at what's wrong with them instead of accepting them so I like her now .

Kristen is a really beautiful young woman. But more importantly, a very talented one both in front and behind the camera. AAND, an exceptionaly intelligent, well spoken, truthful and fearless. She doesn’t fit into the stereotype and therefore suffered some scrutiny, but you know what - she’s building up a thick skin, doing her thing under her own terms and conditions. And she’s always giving it all and her very best. Simply put, she’s like a raw diamond 💎. And I respect her for all of that.

I am a little late to comment on this but I just wanted to say I am French and I was at the César when she made her speech and honestly it was so great !! Of course she made mistakes but let me tell you when I speak english in front of a lot of people (and even here I am sure I am making some mistakes) I also can messed up -> but that is not really the important think here : she tried to do something nice for us and honestly that's what matter the most she didn't go the easiest way and ask for a translator she tried -> it was such an honor she came at all that I don't think people in the room payed attention to her mistakes they were just happy she tried (at least I was :) )

shoutout to kristen for realizing I wasn't straight, lemme tell u it was confusing as hell when everyone was talking about whether Jacob or Edward was hotter and I was team Bella all the way

I love how you can relate to Kristen Stewart because she is like an every day person, (not famous) she messes up, doesn't always make eye contact, isnt extremely outgoing, people don't laugh at everything she says, etc.

Honestly mad props for her going out there and talking to a big crowd there's nothing wrong with being a nervous actress the only thing that bugs me is when people say she doesn't smile like uh yes she does

I love this young woman, she's full of surprises and incredibly talented. I wish her and Hellen a gorgeous and happy life!

I believe the awkwardness we see is someone who is truly and courageously pushing past her comfort zone even if it feels uncomfortable being in her own skin to do it. It has served her well and has gotten her to heights beyond her wildest dreams. You got to admire and respect her for possessing such a rare strength.

She is very shy but chooses to to embrace it and it works out for her. Very beautiful and intelligent.

She is an awesome person. Everything about her is perfect. I've been loved kristen for almost ten years, and I will always love her.

As a shy person I look up to her! You can say she's doing a lot of efforts and she looks stunning !! You go girl 😙!

I waited for Kristen to show up o Ellen because she has been in so many talk shows in years, except Ellen's. I always thought Ellen didn't like her and I still do. I wish she didn't bring about twilight that shit's been long gone. Also I know Kristen doesn't like to talk about it too (from her interviews) It seems like Ellen didn't done any search about her she didn't know any of the names of her movies. Kristen does so many amazing work, she works so hard and yet I feel so frustereted that she is still known as ''twilight girl''. C'mon man. It's unfair. Talk about her recent works, she's done a lot! Don't put pressure on her because of her past, it's gone get over it.

While I do understand why she wants to move on from that time and get why she feels that way now, those are the films people will always point to when she is mentioned. She has been in some good films since then, but none that have surpassed or even reached Twilight's huge popularity. It's just how it is. Emma Watson will be known as Hermione until Beauty and the Beast comes out and then she will be known as Belle too. Jennifer Lawrence has done amazing things outside of the Hunger Games, but that's the first film most people will point to when they think of her. Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan have both been in plenty of films outside of their Bond films, but the first thing that comes to mind with most people is Bond. My point is, yes some of her fans are able to move on and see her for something more than Twilight, but that's just not the way the majority of people work and she will be known as Twilight for a long time.

Also if she does have several new movies that have just come out or are coming out how is Ellen supposed to remember every one of them. While it is part of her job to know who she's interviewing it isn't her job to plug the movies for she actor. She gives that window for them and instead of talking about it Kristen was just awkward, like always.

Kelsey Coffey When hosts invite celebrities to their shows they usually talk about their recent work, movies, how they have been doing lately and stuff. They don't talk about their past work again and again since it's been years. If she didn't done any other work than twilight then that's understandable but she's done so many movies and I felt bad for her. Have you ever watched any other interviews of her recently? She usually gives so much detail and expresses her feelings in such a deep and excited tone on her movies. You can see how passionate she is about her work, she has a way with her words. I personally love hearing her thoughts and feelings on things. She was pretty nervous in this, I think it's because of the subject or maybe Ellen herself. Don't get me wrong I like Ellen too but in this, not much.
