That is the tired defense of someone who has no alternate solution in hand, who is not interested in compromise and who has no interest in exploring other possible solutions. It is also a red flag for people with narrow beliefs and who want to keep the baby regardless of the mother's wishes. You must like what Kristan has to say because she definitely has a lot to say about abortion. She really doesn't have the evidence or knowledge to argue her points successfully. She relies heavily on a few key points and will not even acknowledge that someone is confronting her with respect to her position on abortion. He was so tiny 4lbs. Doctors tell me he will be 6'2" at 18. It is a life that needs time to grow but its a baby!! Just look at any ultrasound. I had one, once a week throughout my pregnancy. I watched him breathe the fluid and see his heart beat as early as 1 month. If you don't want a baby just use protection. Be proactive. You will live with the guilt for the rest of your life. And the woman chose to participate in sex and ended up pregnant (g*ape is a very small percentage and the child shouldn't have to pay for it). I'm so tired of women demanding liberties but refusing to be accountable. And since when are children not a blessing? Children can be a 'blessing', but they are also burdensome. Pregnancy itself takes a big toll on the body. Your post is actually contradictory, in that you mock the idea of 'women choosing'. Your argument is 'hey, the women chose to have sex, they have to expect to get pregnant." However, in the case of sexual assault and / or incest, the female hasn't 'chosen' to participate. You then gloss over the issue, implying that you think that abortion should be illegal even in cases of rape - i.e. where no actual 'choice' took place on her part at all. You are in the minority opinion in that regard. If you doubt me, just google opinion polls on the issue.

@@ALJ9000 You might be surprised. Scientists are human. And we use emotional appeals all the time, mostly in grant-proposals and lectures, although in some cases it's subtle. A sentence like "the potential activities of the enzymes are limited by the twenty canonical amino-acids of which proteins, including enzymes, are made" sounds very dry, but it's really a sentence about a hero who needs to forge anew sword in order to kill a dragon and take its treasure. Now that is an emotional story (as Wagner understood). In any case, appeal to authority is not always a fallacy. Not when the authority you appeal to know a great deal about the subject you are discussing and your interlocutor knows very little about it. For instance, did you know that there isn't a "moment of conception" when the sperm fuses with the egg? It's actually the beginning of a _process_ of conception which takes several hours. When someone mentions the "moment of conception" you can be pretty sure he's not an embryologist.

He had nearly zero percent body fat so he was skin and bones, he literally had no butt. Like no fat for booty cheeks so it looked like he didn’t have a butt. This was 19 years ago, I had never even heard of a baby that tiny surviving, and in my mind certainly not without major, lifelong health issues. The doctors prepared us over and over and over how much of a roller coaster ride we were in for- with brain bleeds and seizures and lung issues, and a million other things.... He turned 19 a few months ago. Smart, sweet, tall (6’3) and most importantly healthy as a horse. He, actually quite miraculously, had exactly zero health issues, neither in the hospital nor when he came home. I have no children, and it looks like it’s staying that way so my niece and nephews ARE my kids- and this is a topic that I’m highly passionate about. I held a little human being that was almost too tiny to even imagine, in my hands. And he was absolutely perfect. But people want to tell me that babies even way further along aren’t real human beings yet? I honestly believe it’s willful ignorance to alleviate the guilt they feel for what they know is wrong. All life is precious, and people don’t get the right to arbitrarily choose who gets to live or die- whose life “counts” or not. PERIOD

Scientists have already made these discoveries (if they would make their research availible to the public) and you don’t NEED to be a scientist or a biologist to learn from someone else’s research. Like if I said “I mixed red and yellow and got orange” you don’t have to say “I don’t know, I’m not an artist” you don’t have to be an artist to know red and yellow make orange. You don’t have to be fluent in a language to start learning words, and you don’t learn language from people who are fluent (most often from your parents; only a small amount of English professors are fluent. My point is paying 50,000 dollars for a piece of paper doesn’t mean you watched the video your professor told you to watch better than someone who watched the video on their own.

I was pro choice as I thought women should have the right to choose what to do with their bodies. As I started watching these debates and becoming more educated in this matter I realized I was very wrong. The problem I have with pro choice is that women are NOT choosing what to do with their own bodies. If a woman (not pregnant) wants to hang herself from a tree, jump over a bridge or whatever you want to do to kill yourself, that's pro choice. Abortion on the other hand though is choosing to end someone elses life. An induced abortion is the killing of a human being. Plain and simple. The fact that Pro choicers try to argue that a "fertilized egg" or just a "cluster of cells" is not a human being is beyond me. 23+23 is 46 gals. Please stop the killing of innocent babies😢

Spontaneous abortions occur far more often than medical abortions. Gynecology textbooks conservatively cite a 15% miscarriage rate, with one medical study finding a spontaneous abortion rate of almost 90% in very early pregnancy. That would make God the greatest abortionist in history!

This is the real problem we as a people have . This woman tried to defend her pro choice thinking and was repeatedly shot down without doubt. And after several attempts at different angles to justify her stance ,instead of taking a critical look at herself internally, She dismisses Kristen and the whole conversation. Too arrogant to consider the possibility she may be wrong. The little hand gesture as she walks away proves it.

Taking a life because it is inconvenient to you is not dealing with the consequences. Thousands are waiting to adopt. If the people would simply be responsible in those choices it would eliminate the need for over 90% of abortions (therefore taking out the minority outliers- failed protection, rape, incest, etc.).
