Kris Kristofferson Is Now Almost 90 How He Lives Is Sad.
"Old age but not old soul", Kris Kristofferson has shown us his unyielding burning passion for music even though he is almost 90 years old. Fans know that Kris is successful in his career, but how many people know about his melancholy life? Let's put aside the flashy things you see in Kris, this is the real-sad life he had to live for more than 8 decades.

There is absolutely nothing that indicates the life that Kris has is sad! I think he has been able to live his dream, surrounded with love and is going on 90. Thankful and grateful I would imagine.

@@helenheeney2284 No wonder you're asking where's the sadness. It's there, deep within Kris. Always has been, ever since he was a privileged US Navy Admiral's kid. He couldn't ve been a spoiled Navy's brat. As a matter of fact, he majored in English, he did a couple of post grad years at Oxford, England. He did his USAF training, flew choppers and served in Germany. If I'm not mistaken, this country-rock-hippy holds the rank of a USAF major😂. And he threw it all away. My Wild American choose instead to serve as a bartender and recording studio buildings janitor in Nashville, Tennessee. Like sweeping floors and dusting as the likes of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash went about their business of recording their music. All the while, Kris was writing his own music and... waiting, waiting.... Until one day a chopper landed on Johnny Cash's land. Out came Kris carrying the Sunday Morning Coming Down lyrics and chords. The rest is history. For Kris. And, to a large extent for Johnny, too.

Something amazing happened a month ago. I was listening to a so g by Rits Coolidge and I commented it brought back many memories.my comment got a like by kris Kristofferson . So I commented, is that actually by Krs or a secretary...he replied that he was replying personally. Wow, I said I was honored that my idol had sent me a PERSONAL message. He sent me his email, and I praised him for supporting Sinead o Conner, and we started a wonderful correspondence. He seems absolutely bright and cheerful, and told me to keep in touch. Wow, I never knew that giving Rita's song a like would lead to a personal correspondence with this icon! I can assure everyone he's got a bright, cheerful and wonderful mind!

I was not a country western music fan until I discovered the remarkable Kris Krisofferson. I was really impressed with the words of his songs and how they impacted my life. Since the dsicovery I tried to follow everything I could find mostly on KZread and have copied websites of the performances and forwarded to friends and family member who also grew to love Kris' s songs and the man he is.

There are people I always wished would outlive me. My wife and my son, e.g, my brother and my nephew and their families.... My friends, but a lot of them are gonna.. And my heroes in life. Jimi and Jim and Gram and Curt... went west ages ago. Many others, too. As I myself am about to enter God's Waiting Room, I get to think about that shit much more than I care to. And still, of all my heroes, Tony Bourdain is gone. Kris and Keith are still hanging around. Hope at least you two don't disappoint me.

I became a fan during the "Me and Bobbie McGee" years in 1971; He and Rita Coolidge were married during the release of the "Full Moon" album around 1973. His appearances in movies "Billy the Kid", and "A Star is Born"(with Barbra Streisand) remain memorable; Kris is a very old man now, but I think he recalls some older songs like "Why me, Lord"? Talented man indeed.

I was born in '66. Mama had me involved with church four times a week since I was in diapers. Thursday nights were for getting in the church van and visiting 'shut-ins' (elderly...who couldn't make it to church any longer, but wanted to). I was young when got new hymnal books. There's nothing about this man, or his life, that is sad to me. Stand up in church and sing 'Why Me'. Take that one out to decent folks, and sing it to them. If nothing else, Kris has blessed us with this one. I've been to war four times and am back-slidden. WHY ME has a way keeping me somewhat straight. Thanks Kris. Oh yeah...I love anything he does that involves his 'harpoon'!

I knew Kris Kristofferson and his sister Karen in 1964-65. He was the helicopter pilot for General Joseph R. Russ in Bad Kruzenach Germany. My husband Captain William C. Whitehead, Jr. was the Aide De Camp for General Russ. They often flew together all over Germany. He played his guitar and sang with all of us friends at a birthday party I threw in Sept.1964 at our quarters in honor of my husband and his classmate from West Point USMA who eventually married Kris’s sister Karen who loved and supported her brother all the time. My husband was killed in Vietnam in 1968. I remember Kris and Karen often. Mary Anne

First I want to thank you for your phenomenal biography. At the same time i do not get the "How he lives is sad"? I have fond memories of many of his concerts. He is and always will be one of the top performers I have enjoyed over the decades. His songs accompany me on many of my road trips. I'm kind of sad about missing his "last performance." I recall seeing the poster at the Sunset Theatre in Fort Pierce and saying to my wife "I should delay my flight to Michigan." But I did not know that was the end. I know his story well and will continue to share it with everyone I know.

Useless doco, crap research. You showed a picture of Kris with Joni Mitchell when referring to a relationship with Janis Joplin

I heard he helped John Prine get hooked up with a record company after Bonnie Raitt told Kris about him in Chicago.

!st saw Kris singing with his then wife Rita on the televised Rolf Harries show in 1973 and have loved his music ever since. Have seen him live 3 times in Australia, the last time was certainly a struggle for him.

he was not a young soul, but an old soul. that means he lived many lives before he was born as Kris.. we all live so many lives.. So many people are old souls.. and him being sad its just his soul longing to be free of birth. remembering his freedom. when you have lived long enough you understand that.

His early years showed mild concussions; rugby and boxing. His writing, passion and musical talent are absolutely perfect. His talent and life don't resemble sadness but that of determination 🤠
