Kreator's first 5 albums can be matched by only a select few elite level metal bands. Absolute classics that still stand the test of time. PtK is still one of my favorite albums of all time.
1985 "Endless Pain" - 9/12 1986 "Pleasure to Kill" - 10/12 1987 "Terrible Certainty" - 11/12 1989 "Extreme Aggression" - 11/12 1990 "Coma of Souls" - 12/12 1992 "Renewal" - 11/12 1995 "Cause for Conflict" - 10/12 1997 "Outcast" - 10/12 1999 "Endorama" - 12/12 2001 "Violent Revolution" - 11/12 2005 "Enemy of God" - 11/12 2009 "Hordes of Chaos" - 12/12 2012 "Phantom Antichrist" - 11/12 2017 "Gods of Violence" - 11/12 2022 "Hate Über Alles" - 10/12
Mille said in a recent interview that he really needed to make albums like Endorama and to try something different with his music. That the fact he did this is the only reason they didn't disband and that the band is still here.
One thing you're SERIOUSLY underrating about Violent Revolution is just what of an AMAZING *COMEBACK* it was for a band that most people had written off at the time. Seriously, that fact alone for me makes it a B+ tier, if not even an A. CONTEXT, man! :) haha I love that you mentioned Second Awakening. Such a wicked song! :D Wouldn't call it "Rust in Peace-sounding" specifically, though... It's really a Megadeth-feel IN GENERAL ! :) Good ear to spot that! :)

I remember that I was so disappointed with Violent... when it was released. I had such high hopes for masterpiece like Endorama and then they released a "return to form" type of album where everything sounds like recycled ideas from the late 80s. What's worse not one of the melodies on the album is played in tune with the rest of the music. Sounds like the german answer to the tone deaf noodling of Kirk Hammett.
Cool list. I was personally disappointed with the new record and think Phantom Antichrist is super under placed, but that’s the beauty of Kreator. They have enough solid material and all music is subjective that every list is different

I agree, Phantom Antichrist is their best album imo
My ranking for the Kreator albums would be🤘 15. Cause For Conflict 1995 14. Renewal 1992 13. Endorama 1999 12. Outcast 1997 11. Endless Pain 1985 10. Hate Uber Alles 2022 9. Violent Revolution 2001 8. Phantom Antichrist 2012 7. Gods Of Violence 2017 6. Terrible Certainty 1987 5. Hordes Of Chaos 2009 4. Enemy Of God 2005 3. Pleasure To Kill 1986 2. Extreme Aggression 1989 1. Coma Of Souls 1990
I would put "violent rev", "Enemy" and "pahntom" one step up, but maybe is because I began to listen to Kreator in the '00.
Been a fan since I listened to Extreme Aggression in late ‘80’s. there’s definitely been 3 phases of there music. The 80’s full thrash, the 90’s different styles & the introduction of Sami Yli Sirniö for there Violence Revolution album has completely brought back the 80’s sound but more defined. His guitar work is incredible & brings more harmonies to there music. Every Album from Violence Revolution has been incredible. ❤️ from Australia. Wish they would tour here!!!!
Endless Pain has the uncommon honor of appearing in the Dark series
Damn, Endorama was an A for me, mainly because I love goth as well
I love that "how dare you"😂
Just picked up my copy of the new album. I really enjoyed it. Hard to pin point my favorite song… I really enjoyed Midnight Sun, title track, Demonic Future. I actually really liked the opening Sergio C. is dead, too.
Hate Uber Alles and Enemy Of God are in my top 3 favorite albums by them I absolutely love them
Endorama is a fantastic album, i mean the riffs are creative and catchy actually, same goes for some choruses, some tracks are kinda corny indeed, but most of the album is interesting, maybe a bad choice for the name Kreator, but i still prefer something like this over saturated boring predictable repetitive thrash albums, specially today with metal music sounding the same 95% of the time, almost nobody is trying to be creative in terms of sound, tone and atmosphere anymore
I love the few Kreator albums I know. After hearing what I know I am going to listen to more of them for sure. Hate Uber Alles is good. I think 2/3 of it is great thrash, and the other 1/3 kinda falls flat, but the parts I like, I like a lot. 3.5/5
1. Pleasure to kill 2. Extreme aggression 3. Terrible certainty 4. Violent Revolution
S: Extreme Aggression S: Pleasure to Kill A: Terrible Certainty A: Endless Pain A: Violent Revolution B: Coma of Souls B: Phamtom Antichrist B: Renewal C: Hordes of Chaos C: Hate Über Alles C: Enemy of God C: Gods of Violence C: Cause For Conflict D: Endorama D: Outcast
I don't feel that with green peppers, but olives on the other hand lol
KREATORRRRR !!!!!!!!! Never knew the original drummer sang as well they slay !!!! Saw them just over a year ago loved it 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟 pleasure to kill is a bible !!! Its just a shame they never kept that original theme as i was never a fan of the whole arch enemy sound im a child of the early 80s man !!!!!
I'm a noob, so doing my research. I have my ticket to a co headlining tour with In Flames. I am very familiar with fellow thrashes Anthrax, Metallica and Megadeath so will probably like it.
you seem to be the only person other than me who loves Hordes of Chaos, its easily their best post-coma album

For me, I rank "Renewal" as S. It's so good. Songs and atmosphere is great. The singing is great too. One of the true strenghts of Kreator is to actually develop their music. After "Coma of Souls" where do you go? There's no other way to go than to "start over". Renewal is great. And I say that with no nostalgia in mind because I recently listened to their whole discography. What I learned is that the newer albums were better than I had imagined but at the same time very unimpressive. The 80s albums except "Terrible..." are classics and I like them, especially Extreme agression". The 90s though was a mixed bag. Renewal was great, Cause for conflict is really boring (but I loved it when it was released), Outcast... I've only managed to listen through this album ones. What a boring album. Endorama on the other hand is great! Seems like I like it when bands progress and get adventurous and when they "return to form" is where I go and listen to jazz instead :)
I gonna listen to hordes of chaos... first 5 is very good
Gods of violence was my introduction to heavier music overall. Kreator is what set me on my journey of music. Satan is real is more of a political sing using Satan as a metaphor talking about humanity
Great video and btw for the geographical thing let me explain a little thing. In the 90s many German Thrash Metal bands still thrashed because genres such as Grunge or Nu-Metal didnt really take over the industry here. What we had alot during the 90s were Goth Metal and german genre trends such as NDH alias. Industrial Metal like Krupps, Rammstein, Oomph etc. and Dark Rock/Metal which was also popular in the mid to late 90s with bands such as Dreadful Shadows, End Of Green or Secret Discovery pretty much being the godfathers of that genre. Nu-Metal was only ever prominent here in the early 2000s but it went as fast as it came.

Makes sense
I would put hate uber alles in A tier
The song Crush the tyrants off the new album pisses me off so much, how in the good lord did they not think to alternate between “us against you” and “you against us”. He even says “us against you” in bursts of 3’s, so they could’ve made it so the middle one was always “you against us. I’m kinda unreasonably mad about it
Damn Terrible Uncertainty is so good the last 2 songs are the best imo
Great list, but i love Endorama… It’s like a Thrasy Draconian Times..
My favorite song by kreator is by far, AWAKENING THE GODS
Hard to say which is my favourite but their best time is Pleasure to Kill until Coma of Souls. And with that said I think Coma of Souls could be my favourite. You were saying that Kreator should be the 5th big thrash band. And I kinda agree on that because I feel that the German thrash scene feels kinda overlooked. The German scene in my opinion is as good as the American. Agent Orange by Sodom for example, such a classic! Conclusion: we should stop using the term "the big 4".
I have a soft spot for "Renewal". Mostly because at the time I was tired of metal clichés. But I still like it to this day. And "Tocix Trace" was the first song I have ever heard by the band. I loved it immediately.
HAIL THE MIGHTY KREATOR
Even the worst Kreator albums, still such a good albums!!

Great album
I actually prefer the second half of terrible certainty
I’m surprised you didn’t mention killer of Jesus being the edgy boomer track equivalent to satan is real. Funnily enough they structured it the exact same way with both tracks being the 3rd on the album (2nd technically since both albums had short intro instrumental tracks
Terrible Certainty is No. 1 for me.
I have major disagreements. Phantom antichrist and enemy of god are my absolute favorites. I prefer their more melodic side and I think those were the peaks. And then after that I’d rank coma of souls, extreme aggression and terrible certainty. The first 2 albums are raw but pretty amateur

Time to "compromise" myself: I fell in love with Kreator right from the very first time I ever heard them back in the day, and have continued to be a fan since. (though I wouldn't call myself a "hardcore" fan by any means; just your slightly-above-average Kreator enjoyer) I have tried many, many times, but have never managed to get the praise of Extreme Aggression... This album does absolutely nothing for me, to the point where I only listen to like 3-4 tracks (EVERYONE knows WHICH exactly...) and completely SKIP the rest. It also just sounds... *bad* somehow... (you *did* mention the production...) Sorry... :/ P.S. 02:31 - Frank BLackfire (not "backfire" like you say :) )
Gods of violence, Phantom antichrist and Endorama would probably be my top 3
Extreme Aggression grew on me and is up at S Tier with Pleasure to Kill.
Frank Backfire lol

Having listened to the new record a few times I gotta say I really love it. There's a few risks they took on this record, with some paying off big time and some that are alright. Here is my ranking with Hate Über Alles compared to the past albums. 1. Coma of Souls 2. Extreme Aggression 3. Renewal 4. Gods of Violence 5. Phantom Antichrist 6. Pleasure to Kill 7. Hate Über Alles 8. Terrible Certainty 9. Violent Revolution 10. Endorama 11. Hordes of Chaos 12. Enemy of God 13. Outcast 14. Endless Pain 15. Cause For Conflict

Never got into Kteator. I find their lyrics very very lame and i also dislike their super lefty political message. As music its just generic thrash. However, i love Renewal and its the only Kreator album i like. And i still listen to it very often.
Endorama is a pretty decent album for its style but it should have been a sideproject under different name, not a Kreator record. But yeah that album definitely has some fans out there

Sometimes i feel people rate songs and not the Album itself. Is the tracklisting good and do they transition well? Is it easy to listen to the whole album in one sitting? Thats why I think hordes of Chaos and Coma of Souls suck as Albums. They have great songs but are so hard to listen through the whole way. Personally Violent Revolution and Pleasure to kill are my favorites. And I think Hate Uber Alles may replace Phantom Antichrist for me at number 3.
I used to wear a pleasure to kill shirt to high school haha but I never really got into much else by them. I did enjoy extreme aggression tho
If Hate Uber Alles was half as good as that album art it would be one of the greatest metal albums ever. I don't mean any disrespect to Kreator, but that's a waist of some damn fine album art.
Coma of souls was a favorite but then it got pretty lame and I think it's kind of mid now

Hah, can't spell über without "ü" xoxo. Fun fact, Kreator became quite controversial in the scene due to the singer appearing on our German kids channel back in the day to talk about metal. Never understood the hate. At least he actually makes metal, unlike other bands in this genre who spent half of their career releasing hardrock country and ballads during the 90s

It's interesting with Kreator because no matter how good the music is I always have fun listening to them. I just look on the album cover and hear the right bang.
1. Endless pain 2. Pleasure to kill 3. Extreme aggression 4. Terrible Certainty 5. Coma of souls
Okay, I am about to give you a VERY unpopular opinion but I thought Outcast was an absolute banger! Leave This World Behind had some killer riffs and I can't listen to the chorus of Stronger Than Before without flashing the horns; total badass tempo. Now, Renewal on the other hand, I thought was complete garbage. The only vocals I hear on Winter Martyrdom are "bark. bark. bark. bark. bark. bark. bark." Unfortunately, it sounds like that throughout the entire album. I definitely think Outcast was the strongest out of their 90's material. That being said, Pleasure To Kill is one of the absolute heaviest straight up thrash albums I have ever heard; it makes Reign In Blood look like glam metal by comparison.

I really enjoyed going through the kreator discography, though ill admit, i did skip renewal through endorama cause I've heard those albums were either bad or boring, though i have been curious about endorama, I did hear 1 song from it and yeah it ain't kreator, like at all, but from the 1 song i heard, thought it was pretty good, but then listened to violent revolution and onward and they were really good, I probably need to go relisten to hordes of chaos though because I don't remember really enjoying it, but I've heard that its underrated in their discography, but not sure. Personally, I still prefer sodom, I just like they're style of thrash more, but kreator ain't bad, they definitely have a better discography than destruction. I remember in one of these comment sections or group post that Id get to destruction and I did, man they got mediocre for awhile there, there's some tracks ill probably go back to, but not whole albums, im so glad that the new album is as good as it is. Terrible Certainty is good, but not as good as the others. Extreme Aggression also looses some points in the production for me, but still an amazing album.
