In terms of Poland's climate, this day makes history - the 1st January 2023 is a symbol that marks the end of an era. Warsaw's official airport station reported 18.9° C (66.0 °F), that has brutally smashed January's previous record high (13.8° C) by more than 5 degrees Celsius!! (Warsaw's temp observations date back to the 18th century). It also beat the record warmth for the whole winter season (18.3 °C, set on 25th February 2021). Also, the nighttime New Year low was crazy (13.4 °C), that's a normal low for... June! Add to that lots of sun in Warsaw in recent days (today mostly sunny here, too). Certainly this is winter, but... Mediterranean! All this turns upside down the previous criteria of winter mildness in central Poland.

Saw that today so sad. But sure there will be more events this year with stalls setup around there and yeah this weather is pretty warm for Winter

Panta rhei. Trochę szkoda, że łagodna, śliczna, styczniowa zima tak szybko odeszła. Powtarzam łagodna zima, bo co potrafi zrobić mróz i śnieżyce widzimy dziś w USA i bardzo współczujemy.

It seems like the Christmas market season went by so fast this year! At least it seems that they leave the Christmas lights up much longer in Poland. People are already taking down their Christmas trees and lights here in the U.S.😔

Tomorrow Jan 6 is another BIG festive day here, a bank holiday and some great events. Christmas isn't done just yet 😀
