❓ Who is Kraken ❓
Kraken opened its doors just two years after Bitcoin was unleashed upon the world in 2009 and is located in sunny San Francisco. They have also raised numerous rounds of funding and had talks earlier this year which valued the exchange at $10 billion.
CEO Jesse Powell has also revealed that the exchange could be listed on the stock market in just over a year's time too.
In terms of licenses, Kraken holds a plethora of those in highly regulated jurisdictions like the US, UK, Japan and Australia. So yep, all that makes Kraken the type of exchange you use when you value compliance.
🔒 Kraken’s Security 🔒
The exchange boasts that it has industry-leading security. But what is backing up that bold claim?
Well, 95% of user funds are kept in cold storage. All sensitive account information is also encrypted with a ton of controls placed on access. All that is to ensure that those don’t get into the wrong hands.
Kraken’s servers are also placed in secure cages which are also monitored by armed guards! There are a plethora of other security precautions taken at Kraken and that’s led to Kraken being portrayed as enforcing their employees in a way similar to intelligence agents.
🤑 Supported Cryptos 🤑
When it comes to asset support, Kraken has over 80 different crypto’s available to trade. That includes pretty much every major crypto, alongside a host of more exotic plays.
In terms of supported countries, all nations on the usual naughty list are blocked, as well as the US states of Washington and New York.
🕴️ KYC At Kraken 🕴️
Alright, so Kraken requires KYC for all customer accounts. That’s not surprising, seeing as it is a fully regulated exchange. However, there are four different KYC levels at Kraken which unlock different features. So, you’ll want to watch my vid for more info on those.

📈 Trading Fees 📈
Alright, so using Kraken’s ‘Buy Crypto’ feature is going to cost you an arm and a leg. You’ll pay up to 1.5% in fees over there. However, KrakenPro does offer more reasonable fee levels starting out at 0.16% in maker fees and 0.26% in taker fees. Yes, if you are a big crypto trader, then you’ll be able to take advantage of lower fees.
But be aware that there are other exchanges that offer significantly lower trading fees than Kraken.

🤷♂️ Other Features 🤷♂️
Yes, Kraken offers margin and futures trading. However, I would recommend staying well away from all that. On the exchange, you can also stake your coins to earn crypto interest. Some of the interest rates on Kraken are pretty tasty
Also, Kraken offers you access to Parachain auctions. This gives you the opportunity to secure yourself some tokens when the project is still in its infancy. So, that could be of interest to you.

Is it better than those idiotic robotic questions on Binance that are always completely irrelevant, their humans incompetent and always providing different answers? You don't even get a ticket number in your mail, cannot view the support history and they close your question at their own will without solving the problem. Terrible!

they are behind on deposits options in the USA, we should be able to do ACH to deposit, and it is free. if I were to send a wire from my bank to their bank I will be paying a high fee for a wire transfer on my end. I will check with my bank because Kraken has free on the wire option for them I believe, but not on the bank where the money is coming from.
Of all the kyc exchanges I've verified with, smackin kraken can't seem to verify my damn license...

I think the sending bank charges for a wire.
As a newbie to crypto i bought £20 of Ethereum on Etoro. Then i found out that i couldn't move it to a wallet because they have a minimum transfer amount which would be around £150 and i have to wait 60 days because i paid them with a debit card. I think i should have been told this before i paid and i will not be dealing with them again. Will i have similar problems with Kraken? My plan was to buy £500 worth of Ethereum and do nothing for 5-10 years and hope the value increases. I am glad that i only bought an initial £20 but this experience has somewhat put me off the idea.

I have a question. I don't have any experience with crypto and thinking of opening an account at an exchange, either Kraken or Gemini. I read on a few different websites that Gemini is a much better option for beginners and easier to use. Is it true? I watched this video and using Kraken don't seem difficult either. Am I missing something? I would prefer Kraken because its fees are lower than that of Gemini, but don't want too much complexity in the initial stages.

I know your comment is almost a year old. But I"ve been using Gemini and Coinbase about a year. I love Gemini, very easy to use. Loved it more when they had the free transfers monthly. Only downside, they don't have a lot of the currencies I use. For the basic ones, they're good. Also, if you didn't know, you can flip to "active trader" mode in settings, and fees are much cheaper, then just flip back to beginner mode which to me is easier to navigate. I just signed up with Kraken, and while it's fairly easy to navigate, and I'm still on the beginner level so not sure if stuff is missing. But I can't find where my wallet address is to transfer crypto in, it's making me use a wire transfer to deposit, even though they took my bank info. Not very user friendly at this point compared to others. Just my 2 cents.
