Kraftwerk - Numbers / Computer World (1981 Projection)

Музыка

This is the first in a series of fan-made Kraftwerk graphics based upon existing source footage and photos of the 1981 Computer World Tour.
No official full recording of the show exists. This series has been put together using surviving single photos and short clips. This video is intended to represent these films, not recreate them perfectly (an impossible task). I have used as much surviving material/pics I can find and have recreated the graphics as closely as possible. Keep in mind that until 1991 the visuals weren't synchronised entirely throughout the songs. I hope you enjoy!

Fantastic job! Could I use this in my full reconstruction of the concert in Tokyo (1981)? It will be an honor to put your name on the credits for this so amazing work!

Nickelodeon Stuff it’s a few rectangles that wipe on and offscreen, in some clips it looks like a printer running off paper.

Very cool! Is it more normal in Germany to represent a 7 with a second horizontal line? Sort of like when a 7 is drawn with a horizontal line through the middle?

I'm German and I learned to write the 7 with a horizontal line through the middle as a kid. It's not a specific German thing though, it's a difference between European and American writing standards as far as I know.

I don't think so. I am from the UK and don't put a line through it, but Kraftwerk did on their original numbers graphics, so I copied it here. Since I made this video however it has become evident that the numbers scroll through in a different way - they almost seem to 'wipe' across the screen.

BASIC maybe? I could imagine it being programmed on a home computer and then the output just being captured onto some sort of recording format for editing. Either that or just by hand cutting out shapes in some material, or use of transfer lettering.

Can I use this is my 1981-style concert? I'm basically doing a series of videos called The Kraftwerk Marathon with shows based on different years! 1981, (maybe) 1990, 1991, 2008 and 2017!
