I think IOI looked like Somi and back up dancers and heres my reasons why: - i have seen other survival show winners and groups centers who dont stand out style wise like somi did - some performances backup dancers wear same kind of outfit only in different colour or one piece of the outfit is chanced for backup dancers like in somis case No hate to somi these are just my reasons why for me it looked like somi was solo singer...

@Chae Lee the point of the positions is to see who truely stands out in the group. the center position is all well and good but the true intention of the group performances is to find who really shines the most. it's to see if a 'center' will really be the star of the stage or if a 'sub vocal' ends up having the skill to make the stage theirs. this is why for most early ep group performances the center is not the member with the most votes

That was one of cube plan since soyeon was the most popular member during their debut because of produce101 and unpretty rapstar. They wanted to utilize her more properly and gain new fans, and finally, when they have enough fans they eventually let the others shine.

No matter what you all say "toxic blinks or toxic solo stans", they are part of the fandom, they buy albums, listen to BP songs, stream, etc. yeah unfortunately, they are also part of all BP's fan so we have nothing to do with them. They won't stop their toxicity just because we said so. Hence, it's better to ignore them.

Somi was the center in IOI that's why she got a different outfit everytime, same for other "produce" groups why is this comment going crazy tho, i just wanted to highlight the fact that the groups from "Produce" series tend to give their center a different outfit from the other. But the outfit still fits with the outfits of the other members, it doesn't make them look like a solo artist with back up dancer at all. The red velvet one with wendy actually looked like backup dancers lol. I think it's cause they're all wearing tight plain red clothes but wendy has a plaid dress that makes her the only one that stands out. I think when they give only one member a standout outfit it creates that look. Jennie often gets the one outfit in a different color from all the other members for example. EDIT: since my comment got a lot of attention I wanted to say that I'm not saying this in a negative way. They did look like backup dancers in that one performance, but that's not common for RV and I can understand if sometimes they do it to create a cool stage or something. I don't have a problem with it.

There’s a reason why Somi stands out. She’s the center after all.

I feel like in many of those cases it's ok, a lot of the members that appeared are often overlooked and receive less lines. The problem is when it's always the same person centering.

Okay im Produce 101, Eunbi was supposed to get an outfit for a different colour. The center chosen by the group always has a different colour outfit or a more upgraded outfit in the PD101 series. The role of the center plays a huge role in the competition and styling also favours centers. This encourages participants to take initiative and be competitive and try to become center, to get more attention and more exposure and attract the audience because after all, the audience votes for who stays and who goes.

Um no bc sometimes members have little lines/ screen time so its refreshing to have the outfits make them stand out at least during their parts. They're not given a chance to shine but the outfits helps. Other times its annoying that the member with the most lines and screen time has an outfit that makes them stand out cus its so obvious. There are even occasions with ioi and wannaone where they're purposefully made the center of attention through outfits, lines, and screen time.

The others also almost won, being 2nd or 10th out of 100 is also a great achievement, don't you think ? As someone who hasn't watched the show at first I actually thought those clips were from her solo career 😶. Her outfit really stands out, it made me feel bad for the other members

Hahha, dude. It's called charisma and good taste. I kn Jennie stands out, and people hate her for that saying it's because of outfits. But take a look when Jennie wear UGLY and UNCOMFORTABLE outfits she still looked luxury and fashionista. Jennie just knows how to make outfits look way better than they really are

I think the main thing that makes a member make other members look like backup dancers are the outfits they are put into. Some can be similar but I a completely different color or a very bold bright color which makes you focus on that specific member more since it's more attracting than the rest that are wearing something similar and same goes for hair

Produce groups has a center thats why there is always a member that will stand out

Sometimes one member stands out from the others but still the colors complement each other in perfect harmony, and I'ts not only one member who gets the beautiful outfits but some other times stylists are just shamless and favoritic 😭
