me too. I recognized it very quickly lol
After Like samples Supreme by Robbie Williams, which samples I Will Survive. It's so weird, you can hear Robbie Williams' vocals still a bit, saying part of the word "Supreme"

@@aesovXIX Immediately after the "what's after like" part where the sample starts! He basically just goes "-eme" and it kinda blends in with the instrumental, but once you notice it it's hard to unhear lol. Probably easier if you know the original song though

LITERALLY SAME I LOVE BTR LOL
wow so many songs I didn't realize had these samples in them
i bet these artists (the black ones esp.) never could have even imagined that their content would be sampled and interpolated by a completely different music industry… i’m literally gagged right now. i need to show this to my parents. i didn’t realize the sampling was so heavy??? holy shit. EDIT: i’m black… can y’all calm down thank you 🩷 check yourself before you jump on someone you don’t know anything about me. please don’t do stupid shit like this under this person’s video they make great content just focus on that it’s why we’re all here.

Yes and? It's not your business. You don't have to be black to use samples made by black people. Or you think that black people aren't people at all? You think they're aliens or what

Sampling is extremely common not just in kpop, but in the music industry itself. I’m assuming you’re still quite young. Also wdym black ones?
The supernova is so good omg
oh my God that explain why the "heyy" part on Brave New World sounds so familiar
and planet rock samples trans europe express by aespa's actual (!) grandpas, how perfect😽

you're our kpop music history channel. thank you for your efforts! ❤🎉
you are one of my favorite channels btw
Planet Rock was so iconic
and this is exactly why black people should be credited and respected when it comes to kpop. the music, the hairstyles, the outfits I mean….
2:05 i would also like to add “Girls (feat. Lil Kim)” by SE7EN
No diggity was also sampled in Call My Name by Pentagon
completely floored by the fact that a grace jones sample exists in kpop and that TELL ME is the song that has it. how cool!
im so glad im not the only one that noticed the heya one omg it was driving me crazy when i'd point it out and people would say it wasn't there
I ALWAYS WONDERED ABOUT THE HEY IN BRAVE NEW WORLD!
you're genius...!!
i wasn't expecting BTR to be here!!
was surprised to see so much hip hop and similar stuff
ive’s interpolations are so great! another one i love is the “love fool” interpolation in “off the record” 😁
I knew i had heard that heya song somewhere i was racking my brain for so long omg
isn’t there a jeon somi song that uses katy Perry’s song “chained to the rhythm” or something lol

Somi's Fast Forward uses the sample
2:14 this actually isn't what ive sampled. It samples Supreme by Robbie Williams which had first interpolated Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive. In after like there is a little sound near the beginning of the dance break after each chorus that if slowed down you can actually hear Robbie Williams voice on which I find fascinating as I always heard that sound and wondered what created it but it was just sped up vocals!
As someone who used to watch Big Time Rush on Nickelodeon, when I first got into f(x) I loved Deja Vu and it always reminded me this Big Time Rush song, so seeing it in this video has made me feel complete 😩🙏
1:23 I LOVE THAT SONG
the after like one- 😭 i just cant help but hear the "eme~"
I love when i recognize samples
i love you so much Miss Kpop Stuffs...
1:22 - is originally Blur - "Song 2"
Omg Im inlove with Planet rock and the fact that its sampled in supernova just make me squeal, can't wait to stream it lmao 😂
the run dmc in war of hormone🥹
when no diggity by backstreet started playing my mind immediately went to call my name by pentagon, didn't even think of ive's heya although i love that song😅
great video
In fact, IVE After Like is sampled from Robbie Williams' Supreme, and if you listen closely you can even hear his voice.
2:44 fun fact, this song samples trans-europe express by kraftwerk and has been the inspiration of basically the entire techno genre we know today
the sample for deja vu by f(x) actually goes back further than that, because big time rush was interpolating 'song 2' by blur, from 1997!!
retro future also samples the message by grandmaster flash! plus wow thing samples crush on you by lil kim!!
My favourite is the IVE After Like I love that they sampled I Will Survive

ive been trying to figure out the aespa sample thank you
Kep1er Up sampled Jackson 5 shake your body
2:32 i think this is also in joyland by lovelyz
oh so THATS why supernova is so ass shaking. all along it samples planet rock which was also used to make THE ass shaking anthem 1:41 the way I immediately knew what kpop song sampled this just by the title of the sampled song is SOMETHING
1:55 what about “kick in the door waving the coco” it’s from get money by the notorious b.i.g
DIA MENTIONED!!!
I know people were disappointed with unforgiven but I personally admired how the team went all out with the western theme
oh this why war of hormones is such a BANGERR
Wow the Supernova one is good.
wow my people all over kpop!!
0:54 Fun fact, this sample is also used in Seotaiji and Boys’ most popular song ‘I Know’. The people who practically made K-pop famous.
Pink venom also has another one in the very beginning during Jennie’s first rap. The “kick in the door waving the coco” is a spin on a line from Notorious B.I.G’s song ‘Kick in the Door’ which is “kick in the door waving the four four” (I don’t rlly know if it’s an exact sample but Lisa’s pon de replay reminded me of it) I was wondering why it sounded so familiar and realized I grew up on that song lol. Love blackpink and B.I.G❤️
And this is why kpop is my favorite genre of music and I adore kpop❤
if you do a part two you should def include Algorithm by Heejin sampling Love Come Down by Evelyn "Champagne" King on
Not sure if you did a previous video but Tell Me by Wonder Girls also heavily samples Two of Hearts by Stacey Q.
There is also a reference to Harder Better Faster Stronger in Dash (NMIXX)
2:41 - I only know this song because of the game called "Dance Central".
supposedly for after like, the sample wasnt from the og but from robbin williams song where he sampled it (i saw a video about it), nevertheless same origin ^^
Also: plaza - yo yo (1990) - H.O.T - we are the future (1997) 666 - los niños del demonio (1998) - Eraser=Born to Kill (Streetzine Mix) (2000) croatia squad - we don't need no sleep (2016) - Rocket Punch - Bouncy (2020)
seo taiji and the boys also sampled “bring the noise” in their song “i know” !
i was tryna remember so bad what that supernova dance break remind me offffffff City girls riseeeee
2:14 IVE does sample 'I will survive', but not directly, instead they sample a song that samples that part of 'I will survive', called supreme, i realised this recently because in IVE's song you can kinda hear the -me from the supreme song before the start of the sample used in 'After Like'!
i'm wondering did licorice (new aespa track) sampled will.i.am britney's scream and shout?
