@@hanahanamogo4563 but many new ggs are coming with diferente concepts like Weeekly and StayC. There was a time when I really liked girl crush concept but then sweet concepts grew upon me. I listened to twice a lot after that. But Now I listened to a mix of everything.

I personally think “your the best” blew MAMAMOO up because they were already very successful before that song aka “starry night” was out and had a following. As well as “ice cream cake” being the song that really caused red velvet to be a group to be watched out for , it made them a household name

I think "You're The Best" makes Mamamoo blow up in Korea but "Starry Night" makes them blow up internationally...

As a Reveluv since debut, “Ice Cream Cake” was the blow up song for Red Velvet. That had a memorable dance that was covered by a lot of other idols at the time and won a bunch of awards. I also think their most popular depends on the metric, but it’s widely accepted to be “Red Flavor” or “Bad Boy”. I was a little surprised to see “Psycho”.

And dont forget how many music shows win they got with psycho with them not performing at music shows at all. SBS really cut all the potential for psycho, and even until now it still hasn't reach its full potential yet.

For those who say Twice's latest comeback is The Feels, When we talk about an actual comeback for K-pop artists, you have to think about their Korean release, not their Japanese or English release, because their main-line discography is Korean release. In case of Twice, their latest comeback is, indeed, Alcohol-Free, since it was their latest Korean release, (although Scientist is gonna release this Friday, and become their new latest comeback). Also, in case of The Feels, it can't even called a comeback, but rather Twice's Official US debut since it's Twice's first official English single.

It blows my mind how consistent and strong Apink has been in the Kpop industry. To break the 7 year curse alone is hard enough. To continuously break records with each comebacks for 9 years straight is simply incredible. It’s a shame their agency doesn’t make the best out of their achievements. Dumhdurum literally achieved an all-kill, making them the first among only few groups to achieve that in 2020. They could’ve grown so much bigger even when 4th gen groups are actively dominating the industry

The members themselves have multiple times said that they wanted to release music more often for their fans. But looking at your username I can understand where you’re coming from. i think stans often mark when the groups “blow up” as the start of their careers and get disappointed when the group actually starts to wind down soon after, but they forget how far into their careers the group actually is. i see a lot of people upset that mamamoo weren’t pushed very hard as a group after HIP, forgetting that they were already half a decade into their career and needing to develop their solos.

Acutally I think Time for the Moon Night was GFRIEND’s second peak. It had a chart reversal after the second week and his #1 on melon real-time and #2 on gaon, got 10 music show wins, and charted for 27 weeks on gaon digital (the longest since navillera which charted 29 weeks, fingertip only charted 13 weeks, love whisper was 12 weeks, and summer rain was 5 weeks, time for the moon night was after summer rain)

Girls Generation are unarguably the original Queens of kpop, with all the members being absolutely successful in their respective solo careers. SNSD are so powerful that they never wear name tags.

Oh god this video brings back so much nostalgia. I remember 2015 being one of the best years for releases because almost ALL of my favorite groups were coming back with bangers at that time (SNSD, KARA, T-ARA, Sistar, Super Junior, Shinee, Girls Day, etc). It's really sad that we may never see these groups fully come back again (esp KARA 😭), but at least I know how much of an impact they (2nd gen groups) made on kpop, the industry, and on future groups.

This made me so emotional. I still remember when Irony came out. Or when Gee exploded and being like, "There's nine of them!?" It's amazing to see what's changed over the years for Kpop girl groups and what hasn't.

I didn’t know how you measured the popularity but I think there are some wrong part in my opinion: • I think After School's popular song is Bang! • 4Minute's blown up song is their debut song. • Secret's blown up song actually is Shy Boy. • I think Sistar's popular song is Touch My Body. Anyway, thank you for making this compilations! Great content and very informative! Though I'm kinda sad there is no Spica on the list. Anyway T-ARA coming back in 2021! I've been a KPOP fan for almost 15 years and growing up with these bands was truly amazing. There was no single group stan around me because there was less of us who even liked KPOP so we had to listen to others haha. My friends were into more SNSD while I was into Wondergirls and 2NE1. It seems with 4th Gen it's getting better. I really like Itzy and Stayc. I hope 4th Gen GGs push the industry to collab and not feel like it's always a competition. Multifan is how you keep enjoying a genre.

Apink being consistent in generations. I mean just look at the quality of their debut mv to their latest mv. Such a huuuge difference but they still here being one of the few 2nd gen active groups

For GFRIEND song that blew them up is Me Gustas Tu (first gg that surpassed 100 million stream in Melon) and most popular is Rough (first 3rd group got Perfect All Kill and this song got 15 trophies and triple crown)

This is a really impressive compilation I feel like I saw my youth flash before my eyes LOL Haven't listened to some of these songs regularly since middle school (like 14-15 years ago?? feeling dated LOL), but they do say that music you grew up with stays with you for life and found myself singing the songs again almost out of muscle memory. Gen 2 will always have a special place in my heart. :')
