Yes unfortunately 1- The lead guitarist and guitar god Dimebag Darrell died 2004 via gunshot while he was performing with damage plan 2 - Vinnie Paul died 2018 By the way Dime and Vinnie were brothers

What*

Pantera is probably the most important heavy metal band of the 1990s. Their album Far Beyond Driven is pretty much the most extreme album to ever hit number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 charts and it was practically all because of sheer fan power. Dime is one of the greatest metal guitarists ever and Vinnie to me is one of the greatest metal drummers ever as well. They are the embodiment of heavy metal to me.

your comment has literally made me cry bro beautifully worded good sir everyone talks about korn being the first "nu-metal" band that ushered groove-oriented rhythms into riff-driven scopes of metal but really pantera was the first band to incorporate groove and made metal listenable to even the most turned off anti-metal people this band was PERFECT from the genre-defining sonic riffing of dime to the powerfully syncopated drumming of vinnie paul to the halford-like vocalization of philip h anselmo and of course we cant forget rex brown he provided the driving rhythms needed to make pantera go in my opinion the last great post-sabbath metal band to grace the world

To Each there own bro, but I personally love the Great Southern Trendkill the most!(being a southerner,Id say I got my reasons lol), I'd also say its just as every bit as Brutal as FBD which I also love very dearly too like every other Pantera album, I would strongly agree that they were the" end all", "be all" the very best, and I'll boldly state that I feel theres so much more to Brother Dimes death than what we were shown and thats a whole nother story for another day!

Funny story. I'm a fan of Doom games, and when I later heard this song my jaw dropped and I fell in love instantly because it brought back good memories from Doom II. Id Software put This Love riff to the game music of levels 18 and 27.

I grew up 5 minutes up the street. I remember when Dime was taken the entire street was a caravan of fans camped out paying our respects.

I always thought Phil from pantera was really hot but I never told anyone cuz I thought I might get hardcore judged. And then I saw this. Thank you!!!!😅😅😅😅😅

Saw them in a club for the Cowboys Tour. Right in front of the stage...right in front of Dimebag the whole night. So close I could touch the KISS sticker on his blue lightning guitar. They didn't have that many songs...so they played Cemetery Gates...twice.

Probably one of the best vocal performances I've ever heard, and a fantastic song. Great lyrics, great dynamics, fantastic melodies and flawless execution. Inspiration + Talent + hard work = Awesomeness.

Pantera is Spainish for panther. They're from Texas.

Transition is the word that stuck out for me. And you're right. Absolutely.

This is awesome haha. Never thought I’d see a video like this. My dad was best friends with Dime from Pantera when they first started getting really famous, and he even wrote a guitar lick for him in the song Cowboys From Hell. He also worked with Rex Brown on his solo album, writing all the songs and playing guitar. :) My favorite Pantera songs are War Nerve and The Great Southern Trendkill.

I'd love to see her reaction to Rex and Phil as they are now. Hell, Vinne didn't age a day so far as I can tell

This made my day. I’m 39 now, Pantera have been one of my fav bands since I was 14. You are totally correct ma’am, Dimebag Darrel’s hair was indeed lush and he should have been a shampoo model or spokesperson. This is indeed a great song and shows their range and Phil’s epic vocals. And Rex is indeed hot! My younger son is named Rex in his honour, and even has a crown birthmark on his leg to prove I made the right choice 😂 glad you have come over to the pantera fold. It means panther in Spanish. 🤟🏽
