Improper use of tampons could lead to infections, affecting fertility or even resulting in severe health issues. Additionally, tampons have a shorter usage span compared to sanitary towels. In response, netizens threatened to boycott Kotex Kenya. Subsequently, Kotex Kenya denied any involvement with Karen Nyamu's initiative. In retaliation, the nominated senator called the company "chickens" and remained steadfast in her commitment to theproject.
