And it's real af. I been in that situation where an indigent older dude couldn't read or write and wanted to get a letter out to his family so I wrote it for him. I didn't charge him any trays tho. Cuz it would make them sound more REAL The reason I say until Hollow gets to that point, that the lead up is all freestyle? Is cuz this entendre sort of applies to Pat too. Or rather very PERSONAL heavy battlers like Pat or Diz. That’s a HUGE topic to get into and you can play off so many angles within it. To dudes like Pat or Diz? That’s like giving them a free all access pass to a theme park and it’s just them there. They can literally go anywhere with it And would LOVE to rap about it. Not to claim it for being real but to claim the person saying it is not real So, the freestyled part up to the And He Innocent line I DID find it super funny how confused the If I was fat you coulda told fart jokes line made Pat😂😂😂 It’s very subtle but it’s playing at the themes of ‘being gassed’ and ‘gaslighting’ when you take into account it was said in the context of ‘a street interview’.

To this day, this is my favorite battle of all time. They just go back and forth with GODLY rounds and you’re like “no way he can come back from that” and THEY DO EVERYTIME! FUCK IT, 3-3 it was brilliant.

Bruh, this is my problem with KOTD fans...people always come knowing who they want to win before they even listen to the battle...I personally think Pat Stay is not that nice and consider Hollow one of the best, but even I can see that Pat brought some of his best bars in this battle and so did Hollow. This is a classic and a debatable no matter how you look at it, if you got a 3-0 either way you don't respect battle rap

Facts, I have Hollow winning but its no blowout or body bag. Anybody who says otherwise in any direction is a fraud or a stan. Hollow came with some fire and so did Pat. If someone says Pat won i would disagree and we could debate it but i wouldn't be mad at them for saying it. Again i think hollow has the win but it could just be my preference. And what was even more eerie for me personally was I had just watched his The Game diss video for the first time late that night, fell asleep watching battle rap, woke up in the morning and scrolling through news and saw the breaking news that Pat Stay was stabbed to death at a bar. Just an unbelievably eerie sadness came over me. He had released that track just days before that and then suddenly murdered. The video itself makes me sad even though it's straight fire. 🔥

+Moe Ali We are obviously only talking opinion here, so, it's pretty fruitless, but I'll just point you to round three again. Hollow tried to rebut in a big piece of his round, and for unplanned stuff, it was good, but he may have crushed it if he didn't waste time without whatever he had written. The skill is to be respected, but it was just not that great, and even if he hadn't, Pat *STILL* broke him in two with his third. It was brilliant for Pat to go after his real-life integrity. It worked.

I always look at that when considering GOATs. Nitty can go 50-0 and he won't be a goat battler to me, just a goat puncher. The real GOATs-- Pat, Hollow, Lux, Diz and Mook half the time lol... they give you everything. Performance, pen, laughs, bars, schemes, angles, freestyles, AND THEY WRITE THEIR OWN BARS. When Pat Stay battled Real Sikh, he was really battling 6 ppl. And he still got that. But most of all, the GOATs are unique. You can read a Pat battle on paper and automatically know who it is. You can't say that about these new era cats. Those bars could be Eazy/Lu/Nitty/Top/Sikh/etc. Thats why idc who thinks they beat Lux or beat Mook... you STILL ain't Lux or Mook

The more i watch this battle, the more i realize this was SOME HIGH LEVEL TECHNICAL SHIT. Great showng by both guys.

Chaosphere Same man! I watched again after a while and appreciate it more. I think they can do everything other rappers can do wordplay wise (arguably at a higher level) but with the added element of it actually being about the person as opposed to just random clever stuff. This was a near tie as far as content and angles etc. so when it’s that close it comes down to technical stuff. Hollow got off his rounds cleaned with no stumbles. But man really close.

I remember the lead up to this battle. The one round battle they held overseas was crazy and had us wanting more. Then Kotd had the full battle on their next card. Legendary at the time. Pat Stay the GOAT!

Came back to watch this again and I see the comments acknowledging Pat Stay. RIP to one of the best to ever battle.

I don't think Hollow would agree to battle Daylyt. When booking Daylyt there's a chance he'll just do something stupid (cringe worthy for attention) to make the battle lose value. The way Hollow prepares for battles I don't think he would waste writing to battle Daylyt. Daylyt is dope tho, when he isn't doing stupid stuff for attention

This comment has nothing to do with battles. This is what the KZread culture has cultivated. A great battle, plenty of replay and some folks, somewhere choose to hate on another grown ass man (it's likely) they've never met before. No disrespect, just funny to me. Anywho, I thought Hollow was more impressive here than I've seen in some time - but Pat was more impressive than I've seen him also. Not much for deciding a winner. Thought Hollows 3rd and a few angles were creative - thought Pat stumbled for a unnoticeable 4.3% of the battle but wrote more clever than I think I've ever seen him. Not a huge huge fan of either but was very impressed and grateful. Pat pulled of his 3rd so well also.

He was the perfect combination of real bars, “Why in Jesus’ name do they keep feeding me 🍇’s….”, to and funny/joking bars, “Look at you go….”‼️‼️ September 4th will forever be known as Pat Stay day in battle rap. This is hands down the greatest battle I've ever seen. Both competitors came with their A game and they managed to rebuttal both warriors schemes. Honestly either one of them could have gone zero and three. But in reality. Both of them scored a clean sweep. Props to both these battlers this one is the illest. The only true winner? You! The fan is.

RIP Pat Stay. Not only a good dude but the best battle rapper to ever do it. Patty came with the bars & punchlines better than anyone else plus he was a comedian. I have a buddy that grew up with him and heard he was a beauty, i’m sure he had some roughy batches but we all did. But no kidding this guy is the best to ever do it. Hollow an OG too. TWO LEGENDS.

Such a great performance AND a great crowd. They made it so much better.

This still might be my personal favorite battle ever.

Round 1 Hollow edged it. Round 2 Pat Stay clearly. He had a bigger impression and impact upon the building. 3rd round is where it gets debatable. They both had an exceptional round but I feel like now that I've watched this battle for the second time Hollow was hurt. Pat's " real talk " angle was obviously more real and captivating than Hollow's " rebuttal. " I think that Hollow knew that Pat was going to mention the prison thing and Hollow made a " rebuttal " to it just in case it did happen. Which it did. But it seems almost like Pat set it up fro the third round to bring up again the " real talk " and make it as he said a " personal issue." And obviously by the way Hollow looked and didn't shake hands at the end of the battle for what Pat said it left me with impression that Pat did get to him. This battle can go either way but I'm leaning towards Pat more since Hollow's body language and Pat's " real talk " seemed more authentic. Not to mention that Pat predicted that Hollow would later say that it was all a lie and sure enough, he has an interview with Ash Cash on 15moff denying Pat's 3rd. Respect from CA, L.A. Salaamu A Leikum !
