Great to hear! Pretty amazing you can get all this stuff on a smartwatch! Remember, you can press the power button and toggle the top white circle to a square and back if you want to change your apps from full screen to fitting in a square, just in case you need to get to a corner menu or something.

Glad you're doing your research. Remember, watches with less than 2GB RAM won't be able to run Google Assistant, but will handle the basic "OK Google" commands, is if you don't plan on asking your watch to "raise volume to maximum" for example, 1GB will get you by. Also, 1GB is the bare minimum for offline speech to text recognition, so if you enable that on your keyboard or within apps, you may see a performance hit. Just wanted to make sure you caught those things out of my hours long reviews. :)

Thanks MrTicks. great review, and I orginally ordered the SE, but I decided to edit my order and go with the 3GB/32GB, after you commented about the voice assistant needing 2GB of Ram. The difference in price is worth it, plus there was only about 8 hours left on the count down timer, at the Flash Sale price. The Prime SE timer indicated 4 days left at the Flash Sale price.

Glad I could help. If you haven't bought it yet, I'd highly recommend you check out a newer one with more RAM for better operation. The latest ones are Android 10 as well, but there are some Android 7 watches with 3GB/32GB out there that will be smoother in operation.

Kospet Prime is really a great watch... Even SE. With my 750+ Faces will be even much better 😁 Thanks again, your reviews are great shows!

Hey, What is the best 1GB/16GB choice right now? I had to choose between the "Zezblade Thor 4 Pro" and "Kospet Prime SE" and I think the Kospet one is better. I wondered though if there's a watch with better specs for the same price (60-80$)?

The best one is the one that's still available in that configuration. Check that you can still purchase these as they haven't been made since early 2020. Only inventory still in stock is for sale. Both of these are great watches, so you should be OK between them. Take a good look at the bezel and see which you like best.

You've got to go into Settings-More-Background Cleaner-turn it ON, then touch center of screen and shut OFF Display Brightness (and Floating Toucher if you are using that as well). That will fix it.

I think there's a really tiny speaker that shows up in the bottom controls on the left of the window that's playing which offers a slider for changing volume. Otherwise you may need a 3rd party app to give easy access to volume control. I've got some listed in the recommended apps here: tinyurl.com/androidwatches

You're right. No Android smartwatches have sleep trackers in them. Check out the app "Sleep as Android" if you want a really wild ride way beyond simple sleep tracking.

I'm doing a different type of battery testing on them right now. It would take forever to create all kinds of loads to test different configurations. Be sure to watch Part 2 of the Genesis vs Prime comparison when I'm finished with it.

Hi! Is there a smartwatch that's similar to this (good smartwatch with big battery) but without the cameras? Because I don't find the cameras on a watch to be useful. Thanks! Sadly, ALL Android 7 smartwatches require separate SIM for calling. Older Android 5.1 watches supported Bluetooth calling, but due to Google's security enhancements, it's not available now.

Can you do a battery test on the kospet prime impaired with kospet prime SE. I really enjoy your videos very nice thank you from Charles

It's good to have the bigger memory because Google's Assistant, if you want to install it, needs 2GB RAM to run and the SE only has 1GB.

Hello Mr Ticks, In fact watching some of your videos make me get interest to buy Kospet Prime via gearbest. I bought the smart watch and i received it 21st December and I used it for almost weeks but the heart rate is not working. I contacted the gear best and they asked me to send it back to them and I did. I received it again last week I set the watch with Iphone, but the heart rate is not working. Anytime I try it, the end result would be Test fail. I tried it several times but still is not working. Is there any way to make it work? Is it possible to use watch droid app on Iphone to set the kospet prime?

I watched a review of this watch earlier today and the reviewer had the same problem with the heart rate monitor. For that reason and the fact that this device doesn't support Bluetooth calling, I'm not going to purchase this watch. Also, people are reporting that the watch has stopped working after a while. Definitely not going to purchase this watch.

Can the watch do call with connection to the phone or it has its own SIM card

Good morning Smartwatch Ticks, my Prime SE watch stopped charging. All it is showing is the Kospet Logo and the charging low red battery life when it's plugged to the charger . Could it be a new charger replace or issues with battery or even the motherboard? Thank you

Since you do see the red battery icon, there must be charging current reaching the watch. Since the battery isn't charging, it might be a bad battery. If you just got it, consider returning it. If that's not possible, then try a different charger or press and hold both buttons to force a reboot and see if it will boot out of the situation. Good luck! @Bryan Kafka is right. Android watches above Android 5.1 are not doing Bluetooth calling. A few Android 6 ones have managed to figure it out, but no Android 7 watches can handle it. So it's just a standalone phone.

Some of these watches have a "measurement" app in them that allows that change for the fitness information, but the rest of the units are pretty much fixed. Weather now shows both F and C, so they are getting better!

There was a great video by Chigz Tech Reviews where he tore AnTuTu apart for changing everything so we couldn't compare scores for devices tested with earlier versions. So I've stuck with my old, tried and true version, especially for simple smart watches compared to super high-end phones. That way we have a "feel" for how a watch with 20,000 performs compared to one with 11,000 or 14,000. I would have no idea with different score ranges unless I went back and retested everything to establish new baselines. And then AnTuTu would change it again, no doubt. That's why I'm using the older version.

Make sure all your Google software is up to date. Sounds like Maps, Google Play Services, and basic Google may need updating. Get on WiFi and open the Google Play Store and check your updates! IT makes a huge difference.

So, have you found a way to answer phone calls from the watch without sim card?? This would be the best for that phone!!!

You might check to make sure that it is charging. When you connect to your USB charger, the screen should respond when you touch the power button and show a battery icon charging if the watch is off. Also, leave it charging for several hours or overnight as sometimes the battery can become so depleted it takes awhile to start the recharge process. I've seen watches come back to life suddenly that I thought were a lost cause.

This watch will accept tracphone and simplemobile (TMobile) Sims. Here in Florida I got full on 4g. This is an excellent watch. But if you you to watch a movie switch to round display.

I got the Galaxy Watch 42mm LTE last Sunday and by Tuesday I decided I'm gonna return it. Bought the SE for $111.00, can't wait for it to arrive! Already got a great 24mm black stainless steel band to put on it and all!

Almost all of them have a camera in them these days, and often two. So you could probably just ignore the camera is there if you want. With a GSM based SIM in any Android smartwatch you can make phone calls over 4G LTE (if the watch and your carrier support it), and send and receive messages. I'd suggest you look at the Thor 4 Dual as it is a popular one and doesn't look too large. Otherwise, check others in the "Thor" line, like the Thor S.

I have the Thor 4 dual, and the watch band broke on one side. It is not replaceable or repairable, as the antennas are in the bands! It's a great watch but I would strongly recommend sticking with one that has a replaceable watchband!

I would like for you to mention the terrible customer service and bad charger of this watch. The charger is plagued with issues and good luck getting a replacement

I received it and really really like it!! HOWEVER, it is NOT compatible with Verizon network in the U.S. Verizon does not use WCDMA or GSM. They use CDMA and this watch will not work on the Verizon network in the US - very unfortunate. Trying to ship back for a refund from Gearbest.

AWESOME!!! Thanks for pointing this out. I've try and beat this dead horse for four years now, but still folks don't realize these Android smartwatches ONLY work on the GSM network, and that't AT&T and T-Mobile in the USA. What's very unfortunate is that Verizon and Sprint and others waste money building out all these incompatible network topologies when they could use the same GSM system and we would all have lower prices through shared resources and equipment. Have you looked around how all the companies have their own separate antennas cluttering up the environment and the electromagnetic spectrum. Insane. I've got to hand it to China, with their Billions of people, they are all easily humming along on the same GSM network everywhere in their vast country. Yea, a shame you're on CDMA. Send it back. You're never gonna have an Android smartwatch here. BTW, for the rest of you, make sure you check the compatibility chart that all these vendors provide to see if your carrier is compatible with these watches. You know what's needed in the USA now, but the rest of you Global viewers need to do your research for your country!!!

Of course it will, or can. The Ticwatch PRO 4G is based on "WearOS by Google" for the operating system, and it can work with other networks. Samsung's Tizen OS for their Galaxy Watch line can support Verizon, too. These are totally different watches, just like the Apple Watch is totally different. We've been talking about pure Android watches. I'll be humbled when a regular Android smartwatch, you know, the ones that can download regular Android apps just like an Android phone, can work on anything but GSM networks. This thread is under a KOSPET PRIME SE review, a pure Android 7.1.1 smartwatch, so that's the watch I presume we are talking about. If you want to discuss the Ticwatch PRO 4G, there's a review of that one to post to if you want. It would be good to share with folks over there that you got one to work with Verizon. I remember when I reviewed it, the company wanted me to set up a $75/mo contract with Verizon just to show a phone call on the watch. I opted to post a link to somebody else's video who's on Verizon and did that instead. But yes, the Ticwatch PRO 4G works on Verizon.

SmartWatch Ticks yes - that’s what I’m saying. The kospet I received a week ago, doesn’t work with Verizon. So I bought the ticwatch from amazon and activated it via Verizon yesterday. When the tic watch Pro 4g launched it actually was proprietary to only Verizon. Again, kospet prime has a great watch but with no connectivity to Verizon it ignores a large owner base in the US And it was $10 on Verizon as a shared line with my current cell phone therefore integrating well

But....it sure does lose battery power Fast. I wish I knew how to eliminate that!! Otherwise a very cool watch indeed

Try some of the power management settings. That usually helps.

Same exact size as the PRIME, but yes, with the bump on the side, it makes it appear quite wide.

Haven't tried that.

This phone is a steaming pile of poo and anyone who reviews this phone and say it is good value is either hopeless at reviewing technical products or an out right liar.
