Okayu insisting on wanting Stuffy instead of the shiny was really cute. She wants it because Korone gave it a goofy name.

AND, because she knows Korone doesn't really want to give the shiny away. Which is...something interesting to me about Japanese culture and friendship. People will offer their friend something, even though they really want to keep it, and the other friend will refuse it, even if they really want it. I don't do this with my friends, and I'm pretty sure most Americans don't either. Like..if someone offers me something that I want, I'm taking it. I never would have even thought they actually didn't want to give it to me. And by the same token, if I want to keep something, if it's important to me, I'm not going to give it away.

Idk bout REAL name, from what I've heard they refer to each other by code names off stream, since they could get recognized by their voice in public, and they certainly can't go around calling each other their holomem names. Okayu reminded me of when i was in elementary and i got a “Slifer the Sky Dragon” card from a pack, but then proceeded to trade it with “Rescue Cat” which my older brother had just because it was so damn cute. Also i knew he really liked Slifer so it’s all a win-win in the end. Actually it’s even funnier that both cases involve a cat somehow

These two are so adorable together, even when not "on camera." It's great.
My favorite thing about accidental mic-on moments like this is how the streamers will almost always just roll with it as soon as they’ve realized.
This is what makes hololive so enjoyable they are pretty much the exact same off screen as on especially when they are together, they all get along so well its super heartwarming and fun to watch
It's a good thing they use their character names all the time.

It was intresting how okayu calling korone well... "Koro-san" even before the stream started, since they befriend so long ago, its a good things tho so an accident unlikely to happen
Damn woulda been a disaster if they used their real name when talking
Mic Safety Rules: 1. Treat every mic as if it were hot. 2. Know your audience and what's behind them. 3. Never point your mic at anything you aren't willing to record . 4. Keep your finger off the button until you're ready to go live.
As expected, they don't call each other by real names even off steam.

this is more like a feature then an accident at this point, with korone...
Huh. So one of the Pokemon is named "Mukkuru" in Japanese, exactly like the pet tiger-god from Utawarerumono? What's the chance?

I can't remember who said this but it was an en vtuber that said that when they talk or pm on discord they usually just use their character names to talk to each other to avoid doxxing and to familiarize themselves with their characters more. This is why they slip up sometimes when streaming IRL or appearing to other streams IRL.
These are scripted right? Or are they trained to call each other by their vtuber names on and off camera? If they do train itd make sense so no slip ups off camera happen.

i think its that they tend to use vtuber names even when hanging out alone! ive heard that they have code names for when in public so that no matter what, their real names dont get revealed though! either way i think after streaming together for years it becomes natural to use their vtuber names as if they were simply nicknames :)

In this comment section: People don't understand that once you play a role every single day for several years, that role has become part of you. Also, you will definitely use that role as well when you are doing a collaboration with another vtuber even when the stream is not supposed to start yet, their work and role is not limited to just when they are streaming.
8/10 times they, as in streamers, "forgett to mute or unmute" its done on purpouse to get reactions. Esp the japanese vtubers that are in agencyes. Then you haven't seen a lot. The issue is, both Okayu and Korone basically already use close to their normal voices, even having explained so. Okayu even commenting once "OYYY, what you mean you can't hear the difference?!"
Obviously it was staged, "okayu" is a personal friend of "koro", and called her koro-san, who calls their personal friend by the fictitious name in a private conversation? If it were real, they would talk to each other using their real names, "koro" and "okayu" are friends long before they joined hololive, since the time of the tv show that they both participated they were already friends, so obviously they don't talk to each other using code names, so don't even come with this conspiracy talk saying that vtubers call each other by the code name, just accept it is fake and it will hurt less.
