Not a fan of the 1 finger stuff but other stuff is really nice. Was going to d/l the demo but wondering the name of some of the pad types so I jump straight to it? I still have the original WS AD...some of it is very close to original. Be great if it lets you detach the animation and make it control/realtime by user

Thanks Bo, Your video of the new Korg WaveState is the best in-depth review I've seen for this amazing product. I particularly liked the segment you did on building a new patch from scratch - it helped very much with giving you an idea of just how deep and complex this synth can be...which is great.

BB great job and demo for everyone to understand whether this is something for our studios. This thing is Massive and swirly whirly and really sounds fantastic. They really did a huge upgrade to the original by putting life and movement into what was considered a bit repetitive. Korda always has great effect..going back to our M3. It almost reminds me of the Karma in the M3. Lots of menu diving but worth the work because of super u I’ve results. When I hear you play I can only say Beautiful....good job brother

@@BoBeats 👍🏻Agreed!! I Don't!..well, I Usually do not.... I Mostly do not😬 but... IF... it is a bit pricey & I really Really "need" it🤔😶.. Then I'll buy it online from American Musical (AMS) Highly Recommend them!! No, I'm not an employee or sponsored by 'em (I wish!)..but, they're Awesome! I own some of the gear I do, because of them. I would've had to wait years otherwise & having to wait a year or 2 is like Forrrevvverr in "newest synth" years! lol They do 0% intrerest payment plans 3-12months (& 3 or 5mo w/No credit check!)..pay using my bank/credit card, no store credit needed. I pay the acct balance monthly. So instead of say, letting $800 go at once for a Korg Wavestate.. or if my budget didn't allow it, but would allow 300.. then I can say hello to the wavestate now & bye bye to only $267/mo for 3mos or $160/mo for 5😀😎 But Again, ONLY if can pay off monthly! I also use a 0% interest cc or VERY low at least.. Otherwise.. yes Bo, I agree!! Not good to buy stuff on credit!! Once Again, You are 100, right on point!! Just like your videos!!👍🏻

Now I see what's going on with the Wavestate Bo! Actually, it's not that dissimilar from my Montage, but without the FM engine, added features and build quality. The Montage has motion control with lanes that can be rhythmically automated like a sequencer or controlled with the super knob. I'm glad I saw your video before I considered this as my next wavetable synth. It has more in common with my Montage than a PPG. I'm looking for a modern take on old school, Waldorf style wavetable synthesis in my next synth. From what I see, the Wavestate isn't the tool to get me there. The Hydrasynth seems the best bet for me.

Hi Bo, love the channel! I bought the Minilogue XD after seeing how much you love the Minilogue. It is fantastic! I have also bought the Wavestate, and made an impulse buy on a keyboard based Blofeld, but not arrived yet. I am starting to find my way around the Wavestation presets (performances, multi samples and samples), but haven't had a chance to read the manual and play with it much yet. I understand the Wavestate may have some overlap with the Blofeld, but without all the Wavestate dynamics. Listening to the Wavestate, it maybe complicated to get the most out of the endless possibilities, even though the some of the samples are nice. What are your thoughts! Thanks in advance and keep up the excellent work! 😎👍♥️

good timing. my good old X-50 is getting tired. I have really enjoyed the dual arps in the x-50 and this looks like sequencer heaven. are the mod knobs pots or encoders? the only real trap on the x-50 was if you bumped a parameter pot and its setting was no where near the current value. had to get into the habit of pre-bumping the pots

Great overview Wavestate kind of reminds me of Arturia’s Pigments. Maybe it will be my next Synth! Thank you

There are two things I take from this. The first is that they have not scrimped on the DAC's, this thing sound beautiful. The second is they appear to have nailed the UI compromise between functionality and size. I think I'll be returning my Argon 8. Not directly comparable I know, but similar size, price and newness.

I am currently in the middle of a relentless slaughtering of studio stock lol. I have way too many delicious things. Stop using those words.

Hi Bo, how easy is it to access all the different sounds please (presets I guess?). I've read you may have to select a performance first? I could be completely wrong. Just trying to understand before outlay, I like the sound design aspect and wave sequencing to. I would prefer your other suggestions (modx et al.), but they are out of my price range. Thank you for the great review/tutorial. Brilliant. :-)

If I’m not mistaken, wasn’t Dave Smith involved with the original WaveStation? I wonder how much of the original has been retained. Anyway, nice little demo, Bo. This looks awesome. Wondering what the price will be. Would’ve been nice to see some of the joystick action.

Jared Nichols correct. After Sequential went out of business Dave Smith went on to work for Yamaha and/or Korg, the WaveStation came from the Prophet VS.
