Hey what's all the hype about a new kind of miniature tube from Japan? Who needs a 6SN7 anyway?
Жүктеу.....

I looked at the NuTube a few months ago and almost pulled the trigger but I just couldn't get over the price of them. I passed because I still have some 6088's that I haven't put into a circuit yet. Don't get me wrong, I totally appreciate this content and I may just revisit the NuTube with this series as impetus. Thanks!

Love that you are trying these for RF. I've heard the Korg NuTubes are very prone to microphonics. Would love to see your ideas around this topic.

Maybe as an other experiment would be to use three of these tubes two of them configured like the MC1496 and the other as a Local Oscillator and a crystal detector final stage.

I built the KORG new tube Headphone amplifier/pre-amplifier. Two different designs when designed by Pete Millet. Who is very famous for his tube amplifiers and preamplifiers

Question: What sort of frequency response can you get from that little beast? (the tube, not the rcvr). Some tubes like the acorn & nuvistor types, are good up into the UHF/SHF range, due to their close element spacing. I would guess the "Nutube" would be great, as well, for the same reason. Are there any published specs on this topic?

A 48 Pin Socket should work.

Wow, for the price of the KORG NuTube, you could get two NOS 12AX7's.

$50 for this tube? No Thanks, I can get a type 19 for less than $5, and I have a TON of 12AU7's in the junque box.
