Indonesian is a phonetic language, not at all difficult. If you want to make the Indonesian part more challenging to East Asians, you should’ve gone with a lot of L and R combination. As expected, they couldn’t tell the difference between the two letters when they’re asked to pronounce “tiseureuleu”

When I teach my children spelling and speaking Vietnameses. I would spell each word slowly, then read it faster., for example, Quặt -> ă t, ă t, ă t, ăt, ặt, qu ăt, quặt. Quẹo-> e o, e o, eo, ẹo, qu eo, quẹo. That way, it won't be said wrongly, misread, and won't be missing when writing. In Vietnameses, there are 6 tones, it's difficult to speak.

  • @AsianSP

Does nga, nge, ngi, ngo, ngu sound exclusive only to southeast? I don’t really hear it from other region, Actually I thought its only in Filipino alphabet😅 I also find white people have a hard time reading this Like example in filipino we have word Bungo but it’s not read as bun-go but Bu-ngo and they can’t pronounce it. Example for first syllables of words: Ngiti -smile Ngipin- tooth Ngunit- but Nguso- snout Ngayon- now Ngawit- numbness Ngongo- cleft palate But usually we have it for 2nd-3rd syllables Ex: Pangulo(pa-ngu-lo)- president Pango(pa-ngo)-flat nose Paningin(pa-ni-ngin)- sight Pangungusap(pa-ngu-ngu-sap)-sentence We don’t have nge but we can still pronouce it coz we use it as slang for ngi.
