They would think of her as dirty and from a poor country, at least in rural areas. Koreans are very blunt and would mask it with jokes, my father side used to tell my mom she “stayed in the sun for too long” she was legit pale but they said it bc she was Chinese. Lots of these Korean videos with American foreigners, they presume them to be white with blonde hair and blue eyes (brown hair and brown eyes is the most common btw). And did this happen in Korea or in America? There are so few minorities in Asia that the 99.99% of the homogenous population don't want to change their perceptions and habits to "cater" to a foreigner. But if this is in a Western country where Asians feels the need to adapt and sometimes abandon their Asian culture for Western values, especially for the generation that was born in the West and has no idea what living in Asia is like, the acceptance comes much quicker and easier. It's all about integrating to the dominant culture and upbringing.

A study was done a few years ago in South Korea. Koreans were asked who they would prefer as a neighbor if it could not be another Korean. Overwhelmingly they chose white Europeans or North Americans. What's interesting is that they preferred those two groups even over having a neighbor that was Asian, but not Korean. The group they said they would least prefer as a neighbor were blacks from any country.

Depends on which generation. Older generations are much more conservative and have more closed-minded views that aren’t really accepting of new ideas or beliefs. On the other hand, middle and younger generations are much more accepting of new views and ideas, such as Korean girls have foreigner boyfriends, and vice versa for Korean boys with foreigner girls, and even more accepting view of LGBTQIA+ 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️⚧, despite the Korean government being pretty shitty towards homosexuals and same-sex love rights in general. I hope that as time goes on, the old, conservative members of the Korean government can be replaced with more accepting, youthful, and love-giving people who will allow for better treatment of LGBTQIA+ citizens, ban discrimination against LGBTQIA+ 🏳️‍🌈, legalize same-sex marriage in the country, and overall make Korean society better.

@@rainstories666, I agree. In America most older people now are pretty open to freedom. Its changing fast and my hope is America and South Korea can continue to build a healthy and happy relationship based on the idea of common freedoms! Of course there will always be differences and it takes awhile to accept new freedoms but thats what makes both countries great!

@@rainstories666 I'm sorry but you're wrong. not only older generation, but also young folks in Korea generally have such a negative stance against LGBTQ+ or dating with foreigners. in my school time people who were outed had to get bullied, or immediately move to other school so they can hide that they're LGBTQ+. trans people here have 0 chance to get any proper job, so often they choose to sell their body to make a living. we're the least opened people in Asia. even in Muslim countries they are more open-minded and they accept, tolerate more. I didn't want to be mean but reality here is a lot different with your explanation.

So in this video especially when they tell their parents that they are thinking of bringing their 'American partner' to come visit, i chuckled.

Born in S Korea in 1994, migrated to US 2000. Grew up in Cali basically my whole life. I have a Hispanic/Russian wife. Parents were very accepting of my wife simply(only son). My mom was very accepting initially because of how beautiful/pretty my wife is. That gave my mom ammunition to brag with her friends. "My son's wife is not korean, but she is very beautiful" As long as you are physically attractive... the Koreans from my experience will at least try to give you benefit of doubt. If my sister were to bring home a black boy or hispanic boy... that man would really have to prove himself to my mom specifically. Unless he a MD or some big company CEO.
