Stupid lighting in photos. Thats why some people look better in real life than in photos. Also photos capture a moment and it may be a bad moment.

Video camera probably functionally imitates the human eye much more than the still camera. (Still camera is generally *very* different to the eye.) Also, the still photo was posed and set up, so the stark light would make the difference even greater.

A common problem a lot of Korean girls share. Women obsess over eyebrows in Korea. I live in the states and on most days I could care less about make-up. But when I visit my parents in Korea, my mom always insists that I need to draw my eyebrows before going out LOL

That girl with darker shirt is pretty without all the editing. Like I really love people who aren't perfect, these little things that are considered "ugly" give them personalities.

Adiam Daniel yeah. I always feel like if I try to change my appearance for some standards and I look really different, I won't feel it's me. Somehow, I want to just be me. Today, that's the idea that got my confidence in the way I look. When I use makeup it's just to enhance my features, not to look different. I'm afraid to look different now for some reason (unless I change because I'm getting older)

I mean, there are plenty of pictures of idols at airports and stuff taken by fans, of course they have makeup but then there's no photoshop. As for surgeries, if they wanted to get surgery then so what? If they didn't want it and the company made them that's horrible though. And lots of idols appear barefaced on lives sometimes (not female idols very often though).

He's not photoshopping....He's playing starcraft, damn.

A slim face isn't just considered desireable in S.K. but in most of the world nowadays. Not even just for girls, the guys got the same treatment. And it's not even by realistic standards either, because it's not about "not being fat" but about being slimmer than what is natural. It's a good thing that actual people fall in love with what they like, not what the media tells them looks best.

The first two are basically standard touch ups (weird lighting, skin tone/blemishes, flyaway hairs, etc.). It wasn't until the eye and face sculpting that things got weird.

Honestly when I looked at the photos, I preferred the first one every time. There's something about it that is more real, obviously because they aren't photoshopped. It just helped me to appreciate the natural beauty that people have, that no amount of Photoshop could ever achieve

When I lived in Korea, I saw beautiful women everywhere, but all you ever saw in the media was generic looking women with similar faces going for the same look with too much makeup and photoshop. I feel like a lot of people don't know what real Korean beauty is because Koreans don't appreciate it enough themselves, but that's the whole world over far as I can tell. Everyone wants to be something else.

Pirate Bear I think the similar faces is because the difference in asking for ps in America vs korea is that usually you tell them how you want lets say your nose and tell them in detail while in Korea usually they say " I want the nose of this specific celebrity " rather than finding what looks good in their faces but they want these features of these celebrities. They should at least be unique in ps.

Pirate Bear Korean ethnic have small eyes, big and short face. But they also have nice skin texture. It's not the type of global beauty, that's why they need surgery, and i have no problem with that, it's fine, people have their right to make them look more beautiful. Btw there is some one who never seen average Korean always said"Korean looks are so beautiful", sorry, but it will hurt your feeling if you visit Korea.

Josh Mosq, I visited Korea. My feelings were definitely not hurt. The average Korean woman looks so beautiful. And yes the "Asian Babe" is a global beauty type. It's not that they have small eyes, it's that they have almond shaped eyes, which is very very feminine.

"We are in Plato's cave" is a very apt statement. The photo-shopped image is like the you that you aspire to be, but only exists in the realm of ideas. Something unattainable but informing our behavior in reality.

I thought I was somewhat good at Photoshop but this is ridiculous. I don't even use the keyboard when I work in it.

The keyboard is more for shortcuts. Getting certain tools, making things smaller, bigger. He uses the tablet to move around. I do digital paintings so that was my assumption! It's super easy to learn and shortcuts save ur life

But they're look amazing when they're laughing. Wow. The power of positive aura.

Props to the guy and his photoshopping skills, but honestly it’s so sad to see those people being so hard on themselves. In my opinion all of them have really charming faces - and in the first editing steps there weren’t too many changes made but rather the lighting and that makes a huge effect on a photo. Plus, they look better ‘in real life’ than on the photos ^^
