Faysal Hashi On the contrary. I was one of the most obedient, malleable children ever. I never rebelled or gave my parents a headache. My father has always been very controlling, everything needed to be done his way. Everything I said and did was always subject to criticism. Typical Asian parent, nothing was ever good enough. It left me with compulsive perfectionism, general anxiety disorder, and clinical depression. So now I answer back. Not because I just want to be a brat, but because I'm trying very hard to actually stand up for myself.

He's adapting too, it's different country, you're alone(besides your wife...but you have no one you grew up with) in a different background, everything is different, you're learning the language... I don't see the issue of being kind of slow doing things, specially when you're not used to it and trying to do it well... It's just lack of empathy towards him

Yes I agree.. Also, I feel for him cause the wife's culture can be misunderstood and seen as someone nagging like a mother...so it doesn't seem like a relationship cause he is to aware of trying to adapt into her culture while also not comprehending the need for the nag...the wife should be more considerate of him or at least try to understand where he is coming from... so that it gives him time to understand her culture the best he can and be a good husband to her...that will also make her a good wife in which they will develope a better relationship and appreciation for one another:)

Brazilians are very relational people. if they say that they will come to your event.. they will do the best they can to finish ALL their errands before the event so that they can literally give all their time and energy to this important meeting without feeling rushed for something next. Koreans dont care about others' worldviews and experiences. this is why I broke up with my korean boyfriend... because he just didnt understand the relational importance of my friendships and networking.

Uhh where do I start? haha.. we are both quite korean in our thinking, him more than me. I spent a lot of time with many diverse groups of people while he grew up primarily in a korean community. he liked that I was able to bond with his friend group from the get go, but he had a problem with my enthusiastic approach to making acquaintances or friendships. After the hangout ends, I would always get an earful about how I make people feel uncomfortable and that i need to tone down the friendliness because, "흘리고 다니는거 없지않아 있어." basically he was calling me a natural flirt for being kind warm and welcoming to his friends (most of them female juniors). *shrug* building relationships takes more than, "oh the weather is nice today." and I am intentional at going deeper and hoping that the person walks away knowing that I care. But I know that many Koreans stay within their inner circle and dont feel exactly comfortable out of their safety zones. the same with my boyfriend.. the few times he ever met my friends, he would always find it quite difficult and exhausting... usually faked his way through it. came out of the convo judging my friends... and then I was left feeling like I added no value to his life... so I did everything I could to change and fit his preferences.... he said I was too loving and too affectionate.. but then he would say that I was never considerate or mindful of his values. it was a very confusing relationship. I really loved him and poured out my efforts, but I realized I never gave him the chance to love me back by letting him make some efforts toward me, my life, and our relationship. :/ wow. did I share too much? ahaha.

Giggle Tanner Korea is also quite performance based as a whole... very productive, but that comes up short relationally at times. my ex was very performance based in our relationship too.. he needed to please me or fulfill my needs in order to be satisfied with himself. it was as if I were a pet. he took care of me well... making sure I wasnt hungry or cold or in need of anything. but I just wanted to spend time with him. it felt frantic. he didnt know how to slow down and enjoy me (or even enjoy life)

I don't think you should use the word "wrong". It's just the cultural difference. In Asia esp women tend to rush their kids around to get them do things faster because they don't have much time. Some of the family doesn't share housework. The women have to work and do house chores at the same time everyday and they have to get it did fast. You can't really blame her for being "wrong" because it's just the cultural difference.

nice0girl Notice how when the husband has unfair expectations of his wife, everyone is quick to denounce him and judge him. Here when it's the wife who's unreasonable, people focus on praising the husband for putting up with it instead of calling her out. Seriously people, defending her just because she's a woman. Her husband's so nice she's lucky to have him and yet she treats him with such DISRESPECT even in public. From the person who's supposed to be in love with him. This is not okay. He deserves better. They work hard, but they are very relaxed when it comes to details. I don't know if it's like this in Brazil. But in many Latin American countries it is actually rude to be right on time to things like parties, family gatherings and personal events, the polite thing to do is to be 10 to 15 minutes late to a dinner, and you NEVER rush your host, that is considered rude. While in Korea you have to be really punctual for EVERYTHING

"they are relaxed when it comes to detail" naaahh we just love the adrenalin of being late 😂😂 jokes apart, we get late to parties because if you come early it will have less people, so you wait till more people come so it gets funnier, crowded and you can enjoy more with *more* friends. but don't underestimate us, Brazilians are so hard workers, most of us work and study at the same time. we get up at 5AM, take 2 damn hours to commute with bus, train, subway whatever. and yet we still manage to have time to go to the gym, keep up with our favourite tv series and party at night. that's why our rule is, if the party or event starts at 7PM, set the time for 6PM (not in business ofc). like, when I go shopping with my besties I tell them to be at the mall at 5:30PM if I want us to meet at 6PM. It sucks but that's how it works here sometimes.

Well, since most brazilian boys don't help arround the house while growing up (most br girls do), a lot of brazilian men tend to be pretty bad at doing chores. Plus, his family was probrably middle class or higher, and such families rarely teach any of their children how to do housework in Brazil. I guess the point here is not that he is lazy, but since he is stil learnig how to do things he never done before it takes him a long time to do it. There isn't much they can do about it rather than wait for him to get used to their cultural differences. After some time, thigs will come around.

Esses paises sao caoticos.

O problema do casal é a famosa barreira cultural.

I guess if his mom taught him before there wasn't going to be any problems with the wife! this is something boys needs to learn in young age. Its not just in Korea that men needs to do house work but here in Brazil too and every place. I guess this is one of the reasons i'm still single cause i don't want to marry someone to be his housekeeper or his maid. But even tho it may look like we're lazy people here in Brazil thats not the case, like he said its just that we do our things not in such a hurry, we're more of slow pace people , but we get it done even if takes a little while longer, i guess its just a culture shock !!! Brazil is a very mixed country, we have different cultures and different kinds of raising, so with what he said there, I realize that his creation was much more spoiled than mine for example. Not every Brazilian has money to hire a maid and he says that we are relaxed is a great lack of respect. If he is relaxed and lazy, it is his fault, do not come to say that in your country it is like that too.

Korean people are really like that, but brazilians aren't lazy in general. We just like to take our time to do the things we need to. I'm Brazilian and I can relate myself a bit with his wife, even tho I can be like Bernardo when he takes an hour to get ready hahahaha. This is not all about culture. This is about their personalities too.

Awww he’s soo sweet, omd marriage is about adapting to eachother. He’s admitted he doesn’t have much experience in housework so if she should understand he’s going to make mistakes. Why can’t she just teach him the things he should know instead getting mad at him

  • @JadeCaro
    @JadeCaro5 жыл бұрын

He's trying so hard, she needs to chill. Just by the fact that he can speak Korean so well is already a very good sign. Some people wouldn't even bother learning the language. She's just impatient. Plus, making mistakes is completely natural. He had never done household chores in his life, so it's completely normal to make mistakes like throwing a pair of new jeans in the washer with white clothes. Only people who know what they're doing would know that's a mistake. I think that was actually his first time doing laundry, so give him a break

“Most Brazilians like samba” This is a myth. Most people don't like samba, because Brazil is sooooo diverse, even in music!

i feel like that lady was raised to be perfect and she instills that concept into her husband which isnt good her husband tries as hard to bend to her wishes yet she isnt bending to find a level ground that is bad in a relationship especially one with culture differences u have to give half and half expect that not everything can be done the way u were raised because some view points in certain situations will crash not to mention as well with ur opinions.

When you are an interracial marriage , first hands you should well aware of the differences of two cultures, it is important to compromise each other and should acted reasonable , in this context the woman or the wife is very wrong cos you married to him you should marry his weakness too , only if he is abusive then no compromise at all stay away from abusive partners that for sure, but if he does one chores slow or wrongly you accepted it very well , cos good loving couple loves are unconditionally , you must love your partners without any terms and conditions cos I am a mixed marriage too I understand his terms and my terms , that is why my marriage is 38 years now and we are in our 60 years younger , the keys words are happy and patience all the times
