8:29 Do we have to use 달걀 and 계란 separately at different circumstances or just use both to refer as «egg» 10:42 can we also use야채 for vegetable or we can only use 채소 ?
@LearnKoreanwithHoya
18 күн бұрын
Thank you for asking such an excellent question! The national institute of Korean language recommend that we use 달걀(egg)/채소(vegetable) instead of 계란/야채, since the first two are pure Korean words and the latter two come from chinese characters. So you'll see peopke using 채소 and 달걀 on the news or newspapers where they have to use standard Korean. BUT it's not wrong to use 계란/야채 since they're widely used by many Koreans😊
I knew only gye-ran.. But dal-gyal also means egg 😅

Yes! Both dal-gyal and gye-ran mean egg in Korean, but dal-gyal is pure Korean whereas gye-ran is from Chinese character. So it is better to use dal-gyal!😊

Why in 'door' mun is pronounced like bun? Is it always like that when m is at the beginning of the word?
@LearnKoreanwithHoya

The Korean alphabet "ㅁ" might sound differently depending on what language you speak, since the sound is somewhere in between "m" and "b". But when we write Korean using English alphabets, we use "m" for "ㅁ".😊
