I'm a native spanish speaker and I think I get the concept. It's like saying "esta bonito" (it's pretty) "bonito" is the adjective but used with the verb "estar", bonito becomes a verb altogether. So in english the verb/adjective would be "being pretty". I think that's an easier way of understanding korean adjectives.

I wouldn’t really say “without having a seizure” bc that is kinda offensive to people who actually have seizures and ofc don’t say that bc there are ppl who actually have seizure... and he’s having a hard time pronouncing Korean bc its hard for him to pronounce some Korean words... and thats okay..

Especially as an adult not living in the nation of the language you are trying to learn, as you don't speak it, write it, hear it, or read it all day, so you aren't forced to use it or try to think in it. Also, if you are lucky you maybe have an hour each day to do homework and really focus, but you really need several hours if you are going to make progress and you need a native speaker to practice with for those several hours. The fact Ollie has made the progress he has is pretty amazing.

Here's hot when is over 29 degrees, normal between 21-28, and cold when is under 20, but it really DOES depend on which region you are in(Colombia). Edit: because there's zones that normally are over 30 or 34 degrees, and another ones that normally are under 23.(Celsius)

Korean is maddeningly difficult to master even when you have a teacher. Studying Korean without a teacher is like banging your head against a wall over and over again.

나중에 가면 형용사랑 동사랑 구분해서 쓰는 표현들이 나올텐데 그 때 좀 편히 알려면 품사를 좀 더 잘 공부해야 되지 않을까 하는 생각이겠죠? 그리고 아마 우리는 너무나 자연스러운 표현이고 아무렇지 않게 나오는데 외국인들에게는 그게 아니니까 문법이 중요하다는 게 아닐까요? 저도 문법을 어느정도까지는 정확히 가르쳐줬으면 하는 입장이라서요. 당연히 회화도 중요하지만요.

한국어는 처음 쉬워보이지만 수준 올라갈수록 어려워요. 어디서보니 한국어가 배우기 어려운 언어 8위로 나왔어요. 한국사람들도 숱하게 틀립니다. 규칙도 영문법처럼 있지도 않고 예외가 너무 많아요

같다고 봐야죠 영어에서는 형용사가 명사를 수식하는데 국어에서는 관형사가 명사를 수식하니.. 참고로 동•형용사가 명사를 수식하려면 관형사형 어미를 붙이면 됩니다!

한국인이 영어 배울때 : 동사랑 형용사 나눠쓰는 건 당연한거 아닌가? 이거죠. 왜 모든 형용사가 동사라고 하는지 이해가 안됨.... 솔직히 외국인들에게는 모든 형용사가 동사라고 배우는게 말하기에는 더 편할지도..

박수환 우리나라도 형용사 동사 구분합니다. 근데 형용사가 체언을 서술할 수 있는거죠. 영어같은 경우 형용사만으로 문장을 만들수 없고 꼭 동사가 와야합니다. I am happy. 같은 경우 I 명사 am 동사 happy 형용사입니다. 꼭 문장 안에는 동사가 있어야 합니다. 나는 행복하다. 같은 경우는 나 명사 는 조사 행복하다 형용사 로 동사가 따로 없고 형용사가 체언을 서술해 줍니다.

After you guys started this I started learning Korean on my own and now that I can understand what Ollie says, hearing him mess up is so much funnier.

다른 나라의 언어를 배우는 건 참 어렵다... 따지고 보면 우리도 어렸을 때 배우긴 배운거지만 자연스럽게 습득한거랑 저렇게 배우는 거랑은 너무 많은 차이가 남...

참 생각해보면 올리도 대단하지만 조쉬도 대단하네요 외국인임에도 불구하고 지금까지 발음이 이상하다는 느낌이 안들었어요! 그나저나 올리 화이팅!

한국어에서도 far은 동사라고 하지않고 형용사지만 서술형으로 표현을 할 때는 글자가 달리지니 더 어렵고 헷갈리시죠. 전 외국인에게 한국어를 가르칠 때 조쉬님보다 설명을 진짜 못해요. 조쉬님은 학생이 지루하지않게 편하고 쉽게 설명을 아주 잘하시네요. 매우 훌륭한 선생님이세요. 한국어선생님을 해도 되겠어요 :):) 저도 조쉬님영상을 보고 쉽게 가르치는 방법을 배워야겠어요. 올리님도 한국어를 진짜 빨리 습득하고 있는거예요. 저는 영어를 13년을 배워도 아직도 스피킹이 잘 안되고 대화를 하려면 발음이 꼬이고 머리가 하얘지면서 생각이 안나고 올리님보다 더 경직이 되고 마음이 바빠지더라구요ㅎㅎㅎ 올리님 넘 웃겨서. 큭. 한국어를 전혀 사용하지않는 환경속인데도 저정도면 올리님 진짜 천재예요 :):) 홧팅 !

Michael Kim 틀리다는 동사라 이 상황에서 틀린이 맞으려면 틀리다를 맞다로 치환해서도 "맞은"이 맞아야 하는데 한국어가 모국어라면 맞는이 더 잘 어울린다는 건 아시겠죠...

올리 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ끙끙거리는 게 넘 귀여운데... 조금 아쉬운 건 언어를 배울 때 자연스럽게 말하고 이해하면서 배우는 게 스트레스 안 받을텐데..... 갑자기 문법부터 시작하니 어려워하는 것 같아서 안쓰러움 ㅠ ㅎ 그냥 이야기하면서 한글에 애정을 가지면 자연스럽게 말하게 될 것 같은데 ㅋㅋㅋ근데 이렇게 배우는 모습을 보니 고맙고 안쓰럽고 귀엽고 ㅋㅋ암튼 올리 갑시작!

맞는 맣인데 병행하능게 가장 좋름. 저 과정도 필요하고 그 말을 쓰는 환경에 자주 녹아져 있으면 배가 되지만 타국에사 처음 배우는 외국어라면 헷깔려도 문법을 먼저 다지면서 가는게 더 수월하다거 알고있어요

사실 규칙은 한국인도 모른다는 것..

아무리 그래도 명사, 동사, 형용사 정도는 대부분의 분들이 아실겁니다.

많은 분들이 조쉬가 잘못된 정보를 전달하고 있다고 지적해주시는 데 조쉬가 말한 부분은 전혀 오류없는 사실이에요 편의상 형용사라고 부르지만 한국어의 형용사는 기실 서술동사(descriptive verb)고 개방부류로서 adjective라는 개념은 한국어엔 전혀 없다고 보셔야 해요 맞다 있다 힘들다 없다 등등 실제로 형용사(descriptive verb)인지 동사(action verb)인지 애매한 표현도 많고요, 실생활에선 형용사가 규범문법에서 금지한 동사활용을 하는 경우도 부지기수죠 행복하자 명랑하라 등등

현재 중 1인 학생입니다:) 국어시간에 동사와 형용사를 구분하라 배웠는데 틀린 정보인가요? 동사에 -라 를 하면 먹어라, 입어라 처럼 명령문이 되고 형용사에 -라 를 하면 아름다워라, 빨라라 처럼 감탄문이 된다고 배웠는데 헷갈려서요ㅜㅜ 그 밖에 구분하는 법도 배우고 시험문제에 그 둘을 구분하는 문제도 나와서 혼란스러워요@.@

설명충 실제 생활에서 구분하기에 애매한 경우가 있을 뿐이지, 구분하는 것 자체가 틀린 건 아니에요. 그리고 학생들은 시험을 봐야 하기 때문에 명확한 기준이 필요해서 학교 문법으로는 그렇게 구분하라고 가르치는 거고요.

영어와 달리 한국어의 형용사와 동사는 형태가 아니라 의미로 구분됩니다. '형용사=동사'가 아니라 생김새('~다')가 같을 뿐이죠. 따지고 들면 형용사와 동사의 어미 활용이 차이가 나는 부분도 있습니다만 한국어 전공자가 아닌 이상 굳이 이런 걸 고민하면서 파고들 필요는 전혀 없겠죠..

Well.. "Tais-toi" is more like "don't say anything OR don't say any more words". It's a polite forme to say "shut up". But the real "SHUT UP" in french is "TA GUEULE" or "FERME TA GUEULE"

Yes it's so funny I was talking with my sister in French yesterday and she goes "ouais ouais tais toi" and my dad's French isn't very good and he was like "hey that's not nice!" And we were both like no dad it's legit just "be quiet" "ta gueule" is where it becomes more rude... so I think a lot of non native French speakers think tais toi is shut up
