Even Snoop Dogg has never seen a joint that looked that good.
It would be interesting to see a full piece of furniture that incorporates this type of joint. It's a really nice design element.

Is Ash good for wood turning?
So the beak part is just for the aesthetics right?
Hermoso trabajo, que madera es la que utiliza? Éxitos!
what do u use for wood finish?
Nice work man. Love that 90 degree chisel you employed near the end of the clip. Didn't know that was a thing.

This amount of skill and precision is just obscene.
Chinese influenced furniture in Asia often has a gentle crown across the width of its members. This joint allows pieces to join at 90 degrees and retain that crown with a miter effect.
What is this particular joint used in? Chair/table legs? Beautiful joint regardless. Cheers :)
What could you use this joint for? I've never seen it in furniture construction. It's an awesome joint though.

Picky, picky.
Is a dozuki also a traditional korean saw? I'm pretty sure that an electric spindle mortiser isn't traditional...
@constantinosschinas4503

electricity and youtube not traditional too. back to the subject. how did they make this joint sturdy? glue? nails?
@timhofstetter5654
3 жыл бұрын
@@constantinosschinas4503 I've seen both. Traditionally, only glue would have been used. Fish skin glue, if I'm not mistaken. Later, nails would be added when they became available to alleviate the requirement for excellent joinery. Really good joinery of this type, with decent glue, shouldn't need nails.
I did it myself. I used Woodprix woodworking plans for this.
