Korean Marinated Eggs | Mayak Eggs

This egg recipe is super easy and is a perfect way to elevate normal, boring boiled eggs!
They are called mayak eggs in Korea which translates to drug eggs because of how addictively delicious they are!
Eat then as a side dish or with rice for a light meal!
* Ingredients
- Eggs 8ea
- Boiling Water 150g
- Kombu 5ea
- Onion 60g
- Scallions 15g
- Garlic minced 25g
- Serrano Pepper 10g
- Red Bell Pepper 20g
- Ginger 5g
- Sugar 30g
- Mirin 40g
- Soy Sauce 100g
- Fish Sauce 2g (optional)
* Method
1. Steep kombu in hot water for 15 minutes.
2. Chop onion, scallions, peppers, mince garlic, and slice ginger.
3. Discard kombu from the water and add sugar, mirin, soy sauce, fish sauce and all the veggies.
4. Cook the eggs to desired doneness. 6 minutes for soft, 7 and a half for a medium, and 10 for hard boiled.
5. When the eggs are done, place them straight into ice water and cool them.
6. Peel the eggs and place them in a container.
7. Pour the marinade into the container, close the lid tight, and marinate for at least a day or a couple days in the fridge.
8. Serve with hot rice or as a side dish and enjoy!

    Absolutely! As long as you don’t spoon it onto rice or anything else and eat it all lol

    How long is egg good in refrigerator.

    Should last at least a week. We think maybe even longer but do not exactly know
