Because in South Korea their standard of western artist is Charlie Puth. He's the one leading the western music in Korean music platfroms. In East Asia, Taylor is so popular in China. She's even compete with their local stars.

@@afiefswift5403 Charlie Puth is probably that popular in Korea because of his frequent collaboration with BTS. And i don't think Taylor's management has promoted herself much in S.K... ik artists like Ariana Grande & Justin Bieber are pretty popular there ... Maybe Lady Gaga too because I know many K-pop idols looks upto her fashion, dance and musical legacy.

they really don't know her in korea. besides lack of promotion in sk, country music and her type of pop aren't really their thing. they tend to like more r&b artists and r&b-influenced pop acts.

This isn't even half of what Taylor Swift has written and sung for us Swifties or about her life. She has the most heartbreaking songs and the happiest songs too. She can do anything with her genius mind of hers. I'm so happy that these girls found reliability in Taylor's songs because that's how she is, RELATABLE! We Swifties adore her and I hope that more and more people in Korea start to recognize her there because she deserves every bit of happiness!

I know it's reasonable Taylor isn't really famous in S Korea. Especially because mostly South korean doesn't really listen to western music except when you heard it on Tik Tok, Social Media, or TV. But it's still shocked me that they don't know her, since Taylor is basically the music industry. Definitely a living legend.

I was shocked when they said they don't know THE Taylor Swift. Like I myself am from a 3rd world Asian country but I have known her since my childhood. But I really liked your reaction. You both were so sweet & understood the songs well. Lyrics are Taylor's strongest point so I'm glad you guys paid attention to it.

Please make more koreans react to taylor swift . Her masterpiece needs every korean to know

I was surprised when they said they didn't know Taylor Swift. Even Jisoo, Seohyun and many seniors in the KPOP industry consider Taylor to be their role model. Taylor is a very famous country and pop singer. She writes 99% of all her songs. I think Koreans kind of live in their own bubble. They don't know about the outside world.

But that's the kinda western music that Korean people like in general. I feel like people who don't speak English tend to lean on the production and those songs got everything. But as a swiftie myself, 2/3 are literally bottom tier in Tay's music.

Justin took his crown for a while "which is another pop artist" and then once Charlie released his latest album he back on top. But I get it maybe their promotions are better than Taylor, since she barely promote her music in non speaking English countries. Taylor is a big western music icon in Asia and in recent years I think she's aware of it. The issue is probably her bare minimum promotions and she only tackle the countries where her audience is massive which is not Korea.
