you know what has fascinated me apart from her love for Guwahati, our Assamese people, street food, it is that she has correctly pronounced the name of our city- Guwahati, unlike some of our own people who try to show themselves as descendents of British and pronounce it as Gauhati. @@jeteshprasher3253 There is no such thing as "most beautiful". It all depends what you are looking for. Meghalaya provides amazing highland landscape. Assam provides rich history, calming green fields and wildlife expeditions, Arunachal has snowy landscapes and mountains, Nagaland houses tribal culture and wonderul scenery, Manipur also showcases a rich history and hills, Mizoram has a very peaceful atmosphere, with much green cover, Tripura is another state with palaces and rich history.

When I visited shillong, it was pretty hot. A good place to visit though..

This reminded me when I was near Guwahati club, a tourist asked me about where to visit in Guwahati. I was young and very nervous so the only thing I remembered and said was kamakhya. He said he didn't want to visit any temples. The only other thing I could say at that time was accoland, he thought I said ecoland and went looking for it. I still feel guilty about it..😅😅

There're many unique/ethnic dishes of fish/meat as well as wide variety of native fruits/veggies/herbs that're abundant in this tropical region. There're also many traditional snacks, sweets & breakfast dishes made from varieties of rice & other ingredients.
