Prasar Bharati Archives presents Tribes of India series.
The Koraga are a tribal community found mainly in the Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga and Kodagu districts of Karnataka and the Kasaragod district of Kerala, South India.
They speak the independent Dravidian language, which is strongly influenced by Tulu, Kannada and Malayalam. They follow the Hindu religion. Koraga community is known for drum-beating (dollu or dolu beating) and it is one of their important cultural contributions.

Theirs and the communities similar to them are the major reason our Tulu language and culture has survived orally through their folk songs and keeping our Daiva aradhane still alive. We should be proud of them for having them around us and abolish the indiscrimination they face at every little step. Kudos to them. Thank you Koragas.

Entire tulunadu was covered by dense forest until recent industrial development in the region in late 70s every other community from difderent ethnic used to live in the forest not just koragas,

In absence of literacy our forests tribes sold most of woods or trees to earn money and to increase their farm area // SO it hopeless to earth environment
