Rassurez vous, je ne comprends aucun mot, mais chanté, le lingala est proche de L'AKIÉ, une ethnie du SUD-EST DE LA CÔTE D'IVOIRE. C'est la région de la MÉ. Il y avait, et il y a toujours de grandes voix, et des Mélomanes immortels, OKOI SEKA ATHANASE, AKA YAPI MATHIEU, OU ATSÈ HILARION et j'en passe. Merci MR MALAGE LUGENDO !     I swear Carlito, Carlitto, Carlyto, Lassa his voice gives me butterflies man. He has the best singing voice in Congo. He's my number one. The rest like Defao Kester Madilu are in my top 5 after Carlito. Beautiful voice.

    +Eugene Magina I did not read the look on Carlyto's face at 0.45 as anything but showmanship--he is having fun, and makes that face. It's a live show, and Carlyto plays it up for the audience. I don't know that we can read anything more into it.

    Many thanks Eugene, for the behind the scene information. I have followed OK Jazz for more than four decades and, thanks to the clarity of the lyrics, learned the language enough to understand the songs. One day, perhaps, in my gentle retirement, I will get the courage to write a book on this genius of African music. Every tidbit of information would be useful for such a huge project.

    I always think it was Carlyto who began singing just a few seconds earlier than expected, perhaps the thrill of being live on stage, he hears Francos guitar realizes his slight mistake and goes on as if nothing happened!

    Thats very wrong, dynasties end due to mistake by the partriach. in this case it was death. !lutumba was franco's deputy ...remember? again lutumba was part of ok jazz till the end and even outcrops in later years. so how can one predict death of his own dynasty?

He could have been the deputy, but the deputy feels the loss of the heart and soul of the organization and is probably expressing it in the song. That is all… c’est tout.. n’est pas?

    The song is extremely soulful. Your comment is not making much sense. It is about a broken glass (and perhaps irreversibility of the process). A very soulful song. Franco was OK Jazz and OK Jazz was Franco.

    @@georgeodhiambo598good to know what you think of this piece of the Franco OK Jazz effect ... the role of history in play as one listens to this track and the year of recording with a clear believe in a Luambo touch... the sound, the vigor, the guitar playing and instrumentation and arrangement... so prevalent in most of the OK Jazz recordings, was the basis of the opinion expressed and how these factors inluenced how the music was heard listening to the playback... not intended to be authoritative.
