Konshens alias Garfield Delano Spence ist ein jamaikanischer Dancehall-Künstler und DJ mit einer internationalen Fanbase. Im Laufe seiner Karriere hat er mit zahlreichen namhaften Reggae-Künstler:innen und DJs kollaboriert.
Die Karriere von Konshens beginnt zusammen mit seinem Bruder Delu - unter dem Namen SoJah treten Beide als Duo auf. Als Solokünstler gelingt ihm dann gleich zum Start mit der Single "Pon Di Corner" ein großer Hit in Japan, daraufhin tourt Konshens vier Wochen lang durch das Land. 2010 erscheint sein Debütalbum "Real Talk" auf dem japanischen Label Koyashi.
Noch im gleichen Jahr gründet er sein eigenes Label Subkonshus und arbeitet mit neuen Künstler:innen zusammen, auch wieder mit seinem Bruder Delus. Für Konshens selbst geht es steil nach oben: 2012 veröffentlicht er sein zweites Album "Mental Maintenance". 2013 ist sein Song "Gun Shot A Fire" Teil des offiziellen Soundtracks des Videospiels "Grand Theft Auto V", 2014 wird er offizieller Markenbotschafter eines bekannten US-Getränkekonzerns.
Konshens ist nicht nur in Japan und Jamaika bekannt: Er hat Fans in Kenia, Trinidad und Tobago, Guyana und Europa, wo seine Single "Gal Dem Talk" ein großer Hit wird. 2011 tritt er im Nationalstadion von Guyana auf.
Im April 2016 veröffentlicht er die Single "Bruk Off Yuh Back" und 2017 erscheint ein Remix des Songs von Chris Brown. Das Musikvideo zur Single wurde auf KZread bisher mehrere Millionen Mal aufgerufen. Im Juli 2018 ist er zusammen mit Enrique Iglesias auf "I Don't Dance (Without You)" des norwegischen DJs Matoma zu hören.
