    Thank you, Barry! That’s very kind. Our style is definitely more documentary/Ken Burns than “hey make loud noises and look at me”. It would be nice if Holland America paid for it, but every single video we’ve ever done is always out of our own pocket, without any commercial backing (it’s nice to stay unbiased, if a little poorer 🤣). You’re very welcome, and feel free to ask any questions about the video or any other of our travel content on our channel. Thank you for taking time to make comments, and thank you for watching! We're sailing on Koningsdam for 11 nights in October 2024. After 3 cruises on Nieuw Amsterdam, it is pretty incredible the changes to the newest class. After a bad experience on Celebrity, HAL seems like the best fit for us in the mass market. Looking forward to also trying Azamara and Viking Ocean.

    Thanks for a preview. We were on the Koningsdam a few years ago. I spent many happy hours on the Music Walk. I've found HAL a step better than Princess. We eat at the buffet most of the time. What a lovely looking ship Bob. Great presentation as always (only a small glimpse of Holly though this time 😢) The cabana area is a bit odd being so overlooked, especially as it’s charged. I’d want a bit more privacy. Love all the music venues though, I’d definitely find my favourite amongst them as you did.

  • @InnocentsAbroad

    Hi Pete, Sorry about Holly... she appears quite often in the Vlog series.. Ep 1 (Sail Away) releases tomorrow at 5pm PST. The cabana area is not just weird, but obtrusive. From a filmmaking standpoint, if you stand at the opposite end of the pool on deck 11 (to the left of the guy sitting just prior to the court entry), you can't film forward without that 'retreat' being smack in your way at mid-depth; it's blocky. The music made the cruise for us; I just wrapped editing on Ep 4 (finale), it releases Dec 30, and is probably the last 12 mins of 23 or so.. mostly music. Thanks for watching!

    Nice tour and looks like a beautiful ship. How many passengers? You’ll have to educate me on HAL. The Neptune and Pinnacle levels-what do they include exactly, and how much extra are they? And costs of specialty restaurants? Music walk looks like something I’d enjoy, but I’ve mainly cruised Regent and Oceania, where everything is included, except alcohol and gratuities on Oceania, so trying to gauge the extra costs. What kind of drinks packages do they have? How expensive are excursions? Special hydro bath and heated lounge area of the spa?

  • @InnocentsAbroad

    @InnocentsAbroad

    Жыл бұрын

    It was a pretty ship! 2,400 passengers appx. Neptune & Pinnacle levels have varying perks, mostly, Pinnacle is full-on, most things included. You'll have to look at HAL's website to see for certain. The Spec Dining varied from about $29 to $45; it was very good eating! The drinks package was about $40/day I think- we got it as a perk on the 'Have It All promotion , so we never paid for a drinks packager, per se. Excursions averaged about $40-$200.. we mostly took the high double-digits ones. For all that up-to-date- information, please see HAL's website. Thank you very much for watching :)

    Thank you, Saucy! Glad you enjoyed the music. After the visual storytelling we really try to use in our Vlogs, it's the music that curated to (hopefully) match what one is seeing. I have access to 30,000 songs, and keep about 650 on my hard drive for quick use. The source has to be, of course- ok for use without copyright infringement, something a good KZreadr ought to be concerned with. I can’t remember each track from this particular ship tour, but one is “Born To Chang” by artist ‘My My Snake Eyes’. My pay-for-rights serve is Epidemic. • @InnocentsAbroad

    Hi Evelyn, that's a fair observation; I quite loved Princess, but the 'good old days' through the early 2010s before they really started to get so big. I don't mind the Royal Class ships, but what we certainly have come to mind is the degradation of service, which, even post C-19, other cruise lines seem to be handling rather well. Completely agree with you that we'd very likely choose HAL over Princess (and we have), between the two - for future cruises. Thank you for watching and making time to comment!

    I just came back from Koningsdam Mexico cruise. The buffet is a little bit better than a good cafeteria food and so much less choice than other cruise lines. The main dining room is decent but selection is very limited. I was disappointed because I heard so many good reviews from KZreadrs. Maybe I should start a channel and be more honest.

  • @InnocentsAbroad

    @InnocentsAbroad

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for watching, Luke. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of KZreadrs who are less than honest, sometimes, just for the attention or sponsorship. Thankfully, most folks (cruise community) do not fall into this category. If you search our Holland America playlist, you will see the review we did of it, about nine minutes in length, a week before this ship tour aired. Stick around with us, you’ll find us completely sponsorship- free, doing every trip out of our own pocket, and if something isn’t rosy, we will say so. Fortunately, our overall experience was very good, but it was not perfect.
