And remember. This Kong is an adolescent. A young adult nowhere fully grown. The director compared Kong to a 14 years old child. He has almost 5 decades at his disposal to grow and get stronger until he meets Godzilla.

Kong stripping a tree of its branches before smacking something is always good.
Actually the only way Godzilla can go thermal nuclear is if he gets nuked by a nuke that is pure radiation plus energy from Mothra. He will definitely win if he can just go thermal nuclear whenever he wants but that's not the case. Plus now Kong has that axe now so the Attomic breath isn't as affective anymore which is bad for Godzilla bc his Attomic breath is what carries him in battle. So then I comes down to hand to hand fighting and we all know Kong is a lot better at hand to hand combat. Tbh I think Godzilla can win but Kong has just as much of a chance.
Fun fact: kong was only a child when fighting this skullcrawler
