Komatsu WA320 Front Loader Moving Stone

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Several things are going on in this video. We are placing stone for temporary lanes that will be used to shift traffic over so we can work on the outside lanes. I'm also loading out piles of topsoil that the bulldozer has stripped in order to prep for work in the medians.
Anyone else collect diecast models? I have a shelf filling up with them in my office: amzn.to/2WTUmD3

So I mostly run these 320s and 270s at work, (-7 and -8, but I doubt they've changed a ton) and I do a fair bit of load and carry, heaped buckets of light fluffy compost 3-4 yard buckets at ballpark 1200lb/yd. It has a tendency to spill if I use ride control because the bucket bounces off the back stops, and if I tilt it forward to avoid the stops, I can't carry much material and I'm not working efficiently as the machine is under-loaded. I've noticed because of the very low mounting point of the tilt cylinder on the new models, resting the bucket on the back stop and floating the boom holds the boom up by the parallel-Z linkage and smooths out the ride. In your opinion is this a bad idea? I worry that it's putting an awful lot of weight bouncing on the tilt cylinder in compression, but it seems to be the only way I can keep from spilling on small bumps and then making more bumps with each spill. Am I crazy? It seems like it should be a bad idea but the machine feels happy as if this is how it's meant to be used. I'm only going up to 8-12mph depending on distance and how smooth the pad is. Is this the other way tilt cylinders get bent? Thanks for all the videos and encouraging me to get into the industry.

If I remember correctly you can curl the bucket all the way back with float turned on and then you can drop your boom arms by about a foot and the bucket will naturally tuck all the way back onto the stops. This will prevent your bucket from banging back and forth because it will be secured tight against the boom. As far as your question about the z linkage holding the weight of the bucket, that is exactly what it is designed to do. You shouldn't be putting any weird strains on the machine if I'm understanding you correctly.

@@DieselandIron Okay thanks, I definitely see what you're saying. I guess my concern is that the newer Komatsu loaders have a z link more like the parallel link on a Volvo, where the bucket stays level all the way to the ground instead of curling back and then leveling back out. Using the "ride control" switch to cushion the boom over bumps usually doesn't work well on these machines with the bucket lowered onto the stops because the bucket tilt is exaggerated even when low, so my response was to lower and curl back knto the stops, then shove the stick forward into detent float, which seems to drop the bucket slightly, but then it seems to keep back tension and act like it's on an air spring, just without the bucket rattling. I'm just jot sure if I was clear that the input I'm giving the controls is to put lift cylinders in (free fall) which works as long as the bucket isn't too heavy and too close to ground.
