August 2022 update Recently I travelled in this route from Kolkata to korba(CG) via Keonjhar. The entire route is completed and a dream come true for someone Like me who loves to drive. My 800 km journey took me just 13 hrs. Amazing road especially the 4lane ghat section. Thanks to your video as it helped me to select my route.

Hi Shade, exactly what I am looking for and got full details. Actually, we planned to travel in this route last October.This is part of our planned long road trip HYDERABAD-JAGDALPUR-SAMBALPUR-KOLKATA-DARZILING-GANGTOK-TIMPHU-ITANAGAR-JORHAT-KOHIMA-IMPHAL-CILCHAR-GAUHATI-KHARAGPUR-PURI-VISAKHAPATNAM-HYDERABAD. We could not make due to COVID19. This October we will try to make it.so I was looking for this type of vedeo with great details. exellent explanation.

@shekhar , Is there any covid related resrtrctions like RT PCR test or vaccine proof ?

one way narrow strip running through dense forest between Raipur-Sambalpur is a nightmare of the past... if I may sum up your path: Kolkata - khargapur - Baharagora - Keonjhar - Deogarh - Sambalpur - Raipur.

JULY ‘22 Update: This entire route is amazing now, especially the freshly made keonjhar stretch which is a motorist’s delight. Prefer this over Hyd route for WB-MH travel by road. Thanks to OP for the post.

@@ayasagnimita Perfectly safe during daytime. I rode alone. Wouldn’t do it at night since many forest stretches and scant traffic except trucks. But extremely beautiful and freshly completed roads.

jayanta Kumar Mukherjee You commented that road conditions near Baheragoda was extremely bad in the last 3/4 years. I had the experience of going through the patch in 1988 2nd January then the road was known as Bombay road and this 10 km patch took about 45 minutes to negotiate in Premiere Padmini car. The road condition that time was horrible and we saw several loaded truck were overturned and the entire stretch looked like bombarded zone. We had to go down the ditches every time and couldn't be bypassed.After Lodhasuli in west bengal we entered Baheragoda, the e xtreme road condition but don't know whether present NH6 route passed through Lodhasuli. Please comment.

There is no issues for travelling in Orissa. The Telkoi road(single) is good. If you are going to Kolkata then no need to go via Telkoi.

This road is still under construction in some part. You may face very little bad roads but this route is good and safe.

I travelled on this route just two days back, from Nagpu to Kolkata. The road from Nagpur to Sambalpur is awesome. Lot of construction activity is ongoing on NH49. So driving from Sambalpur onwards for next 200 KMS is disturbing.

Always mention the name of the rivers, mountains/ lakes etc. besides cities crossed and distance.

I can only tell between Kolkata and Nagpur. After Baharagora(from Kolkata) only Bangriposi Ghat is there. And near bhandara all construction is going on and you may find no ghats

After Baharagora from Kolkata only Bangriposi Ghat is there and no othe ghats till Nagpur. Some construction is going on near Bhandara. 110cc will be easy but you have to take breaks after short intervals. Happy journey

It could be much better for the viewers of ur video,if u would have described the name of those roads u have availed for ur trip,whether it were state highway or national highway & name of the NH for better appreciation of others & what was approx/ average speed of ur driving other than cogested locations/ area.
