Thanks mate - can't wait for the next match against NZ - been to a few - always amazing events - 1976 Leslie's All Blacks were touring SA and All Blacks came to train at the school I was attending just across the road from Loftus Versveld - during class we were permitted to go and watch them train - unforgettable moment seeing those "giants" from so close up - hooked ever since -

@batdowg4 жыл бұрын
Farrell is copping a lot of grief for this miss, but I doubt there are any players out there that could have prevented that try. At 0:04 he has 5 defenders that could get to him. He slows down, making them all slow down and then accelerates so quickly at 0:06, when it looks like the prop has him covered that none of the forwards stand a chance, Owen has paused, but the acceleration makes it look like he's getting past Owen on the outside, Owen has to cover (he has the prop for the inside still) and Cheslin sidesteps DURING acceleration, leaving Owen over committed. I don't know many players that can step like that in the middle of huge acceleration - normally there's that floating "pause" before a step.

My wife got big eyes, when I jumped up and down at home in my Springboks-jersey, clapped my hands and really loudly cried "Tryyyy, Bokke!!!" once Kolbe put down the ball. And no, I'm not a South African and I'm not even from a country where rugby union is seriously recognized. But for me it's the most amazing team-sport and I'm a Springboks-fan for long. Maybe also because I'm a romantic concerning the rainbow-nation.
3 of the 4 involved in that move were nominated for best player in the world, with a 4th in support.
The Springboks won because they had belief and showed no nerves, especially Faf de Klerk and Handre Pollard. It was great that Kolbe was able to play and show his outstanding skills.. The satisfaction that it was Farrell who missed the tackle, is immense.
Now that is "Springbok" personified, love seeing Cheslin play

He didn’t mate, he said he found it hard to adjust he is from rugby league where that’s normal and he didn’t do anything wrong the ref made the error

@@danedwadd62: The week after Farrell got away with the shoulder-charge on Andre Esterhuizen, he again put in a shoulder-charge on Izack Rodda.

Farrell deserves to watch this clip every time it is shared! His celebration after the shoulder charges was pathetic and the excuse that he came from League is even worse! He has been playing Union long enough to lose the "League" issues behind. He has lost credibility for that and deserves to get burned.

Think of all the litte Cheslin that is going to be born
How many time did I hear this “ SOUTH AFRICA, THE WORLD CUP ISS THEIRS”!!😂🤣
This made a grumpy old safa smile and possibly a tear or two
This must be the try of the tournament!
One of the all time great tries in RWC history.
What a way to start your day watching this try!
This try had to come!Brilliant!
I wonder how many babies that are born names will be 'Cheslin'.
PROBABLY THE MOST WATCHED TRY OF ALL TIMES
Cheslin what a player, size does not matter if you have confidence and the belief. Great tries and one of the greatest right foot steps. Well done Cheslin!!
What I will never forget about this try is that I was the only person in the pub who did not celebrate. No lies. I sensed the inevitability of a try the moment he got that ball and blasted off.
I know he’s a winger but he reminds me of Christian Cullen. One of those rare people that can step without losing speed.
